This mat was exactly what I needed for my physical therapy, which is for a hip and requires me to be on the ground a lot. Previously I tried yoga mats but while they are good for protecting from a hard floor for yoga, I did not find them as comfortable to lay on and workout. This mat is easy to fold and unfold. Has built in handles for carrying (like walking with a giant fabric briefcase), and is covered with a nylon cover that is easy to wipe down after a workout. I thought the fabric would be uncomfortable but it isn’t. It’s rough to the touch when you first feel it with your hand, but when you’re using it, it’s no problem. I also wasn’t how sure a 24” wide mat would fit for a workout but there’s more than enough room. This isn’t solid foam rubber (like a super thick yoga mat)…it’s more memory foam type of foam…you know, the kind used for filler…but it is very sturdy and supportive. That said, I feel like this is going to flatten over time. But maybe it’ll prove me wrong. I’ve only used it about a week so far. PROS Easy to fold/store Built in handles that don’t get in the way during use Supportive Comfortable Easy to wipe down CONS Despite the built in handles and foldability, this thing would be ludicrous to carry anywhere but to your car and back Seems very likely to lose its shape (but maybe it’ll stay firm, too soon to tell) Good for a workout, not recommended for yoga—too thick and foamy, not great for balance ... show more

I have scoliosis and one side of my back sticks out making it painful to do crunches etc on a normal yoga mat. I used an everlast brand pad at a hotel gym and it was so much more comfortable for me, but that brand is $100+. So i got this mat. It works well for me for any exercises on my back, much more comfy! though the material is a bit cheaper and noisy when moving around, but not a big deal. It is unfortunately a lot more uncomfortable to do exercises on my front, planks etc, there is too much sinking and it causes more wrist pain. ... show more

I love this mat. I'm so happy I ordered it. Shipping was fast and there was no damage. My size: I am 5'8" and 175 and this mat is a fine size for me. The mat's size: 2 ft wide x 6 ft long x 2 in deep Folded in the carrying position it is 23 in x 23 in x 5.5 in and very lightweight & easy to carry because it has handles. The feel: the outside is a very soft vinyl. The foam material inside is good, and I am not feeling the floor through it. It is soft, and that is what I wanted. I bought this because my joints are bony and sensitive. It's working great. If I begin to feel the floor or it slides, I will just put a standard yoga mat under it for the grip and additional cushioning. If my hands get sweaty and slip on the mat (which has not happened yet) I will put a gripping yoga towel on it. The smell: At first I didn't notice a smell, but after a few hours with it closed in a room I noticed it when I went in there. There is a slight menthol smell to it. I'm going to air it out for a week or two and see if it goes away. If it doesn't I will update the review since I really dislike odors. This is the only thing that slightly concerns me so I'm keeping the 5 stars for now. UPDATE (the next day): The smell goes away! I aired it out in my mudroom overnight and it somewhat dissipated, but then I hung it outside for about 5 or 6 hours and the smell is 90% gone. I think if I air it out tomorrow it will be completely gone. The look: It looks really nice and sleek. The packaging says it maintains its original shape, and it seems like it will.
