This is an absolutely gorgeous lamp but I have some concerns about the assembly and stability. The base has a cut out area where the wire was clearly meant to be fed through, but instead was punched through the side of the lowest pole, which tells me that the way the wiring was put together is maybe contrary to the original blueprint for the lamp. Additionally, because the base is not weighted properly to offset the heavy glass lampshade, the balance of the lamp relative to the base is not stable. I repositioned where the gap in the base was located proximal to the lampshade and no matter what direction I put it in the lamp is not stable enough to leave standing on its own. I had originally purchased this to be a freestanding lamp which would sit behind a chair for reading purposes. Instead I have to put it behind one of the end tables so that it is pinned between the wall and the table itself helps to prop the pole and keep it from tilting. As for the light itself being three-way dimmable, that is also a misrepresentation. The light offers warm, cool, and natural but the brightness is the same. The switch is not a dimmer switch it simply cycles between the three temperatures of the light. ... show more

    • Beautiful lamp, but doesn’t work as advertised

I am not all that strong, but was able to put this admittedly beautiful lamp fairly easily. I was eager to get this to solve a problem in our living room: We have two lamps on end tables on either side of the sofa where I sit, but if I’m trying to read instructions that are typically in tiny fonts, I can’t see them and have to pull out my phone and use its flashlight to see. My husband is not a fan of bright light, so I’ve been dealing with this frustration for years. I t finally occurred to me that a standing floor lamp positioned right behind me could end that frustration. Unfortunately, when I turned it on, it’s rotary switch cycled through only from on to off. No dimming action whatsoever. I called Amazon’s product support, and was told I probably didn’t have a dimmable bulb (normally sent by the vendor), and they would send one at no charge to me. When I still hadn’t received the bulb, I bought a package of dimmable bulbs and couldn’t wait to change bulbs. I just did, and the lamp still isn’t dimming; once again all it does is go on and off I can’t believe all the hassle I’ve been through only to end up in the same place I was a week ago. Unfortunately, yesterday we chucked the box and related packaging because we knew I was getting the replacement bulbs today. Clearly, this lamp is defective and will have to be returned. I don’t know how, but sadly (and at this point a tad angrily), it’s going back. I refuse to keep a defective product. Who knows what other issues might develop when we’re using it. I really wanted this industrial look without a clear shade as my eyes are sensitive. This lamp fits the bill! Included bulb offers 3 types of light. Warm, cool, and maybe an outdoor? All 3 are bright enough for me. I keep it on the warm color. Easy to put together, but you need to be careful. The shade is attached internally with plastic tabs and one of the set I ordered had a broken tab (I didn't realize there were supposed to be 2 tabs otherwise I wouldn't have assembled it). The 2nd tab broke shortly after it was assembled. So we returned it. With broken tabs, the shade relys on the bulb to hold it place. For a lightweight, non-hanging shade, this wouldn't be an issue. But this shade is too heavy to rely on a bulb to keep it in place. Anyway. The 2nd lamp was perfect and had no issues with the shade/bulb/assembly. It does lean forward! Again, the shade is heavy. Fixed that with 2 flexible wedges under the base and it's very stable now. Love the look and the brightness! Takes up very little room and gives just the right height over a chair. ... show more

I like my switches for my lamps up high as I tripped over the step switches so many times or couldn’t find them in the dark. So I moved to a new place and wanted cute gold lamps. Well most had clear shades and I wanted frosted and several were rated low on sturdiness but I ran across these and took a chance and I’m glad I did. I bought one, assembled it in 10 minutes, loved it so much I bought a second one. They come with lights that can change between 3 natural colors which I love and don’t lean too much (only slightly if you are super picky). As for sturdiness, some reviews say they are flimsy or too top heavy but my bases were quite weighted and these bad boys aren’t moving once I set them down. Now if you have pets or small kids anything is fair game and with the glass shade you probably shouldn’t get this anyways. But I love them and they are perfect for me. ... show more

I really like the design, size and quality of light from this lamp. HOWEVER--- it is completely unstable. The base itself is not level - I tried it in several spots on my hardwood floors and it rocked in every spot. Plus the connection between the base and the pole is not strong, so the lamp wobbles from that point too. The weight of the shade pulls it forward so it has a permanent lean forward. I'm very disappointed, as I love the design and size of these lamps. Luckily it was easy to put together, so it should be easy to take apart and return. ... show more
