This SUNLUMI Wood Splitter features a single bar going across that is much easier to split wood using the supplied three-pound mallet than others that have a crossbar. The SUNLUMI kit comes with a way to carry split wood as well as a mallet to beat unsplit wood into submission, and two lag bolts to screw the splitter down to something, which in my case, is a log round from a birch tree I took down this spring. While not featuring a center pin (think heavy nail pointing up in the center of the single splitting blade) to firmly hold log rounds before they are split, one could easily be welded on, but the smaller size of the SUNLUMI somewhat negates the need for a center pin. The splitter itself seems relatively sturdy and especially the upper ring and cutting blade. Once screwed to a log round, there was no doubt it can take missed hits from errant hammer blows. I set mine up right by my outside fireplace overlooking the lake I live on and look forward to years of using it to split wood for outdoor campfires to entertain my guests! ... show more
