When a vengeful ex-convict emerges from his history, Gordon must confront the ghosts that have pursued him for decades. This gripping psychological thriller delves deep into the heart of a man wrestling with his darkest secrets, family trauma, and the thin line between justice and vengeance. • Kudos to the SUNDOWN novel's authors!
SUNDOWN, a debut novel by Andreas Andersson and Jefferson Alan, was a cover-to-cover read. A prison guard must come to terms with a heinous crime he committed, a grievous event that haunts his humanity to the breaking point, and how his family copes with his unraveling disposition. The authors brand the reader with the deep diving emotional turmoil affecting Gordon, a prison guard who enjoyed beating the prisoners into submission, forced into retirement. His new path forward came to a screeching halt when a life-altering event drove his spiraling psychosis to the point where family interfered for his safety. At the bottom of a bottle, and cutting all ties, he must confront his demon and plead for his reckoning. Each phrase generated in this noir style’s compelling narrative drives the emotion and plot to the very end. I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys reading noir, crime, and psychological suspense. ... show more

  • Gritty, Gripping, and Unforgettably Human.
Sundown is a haunting slow-burn thriller that grabs you by the soul. Gordon’s journey through regret, redemption, and raw survival is brutal yet beautifully human. The rural setting pulses with atmosphere, and the tension never lets up. With a loyal dog at his side and a past that refuses to stay buried, this is one man’s reckoning told with grit, heart, and brutal honesty. A must-read for anyone who loves their thrillers dark, character-driven, and deeply emotional. ... show more
