Description

For fans of The Silent Patient and Gone Girl, a razor-sharp and Hitchcock- inspired psychological thriller about two ordinary women who make a dangerous pact to take revenge for each other after being pushed to the brink. One dark evening on New York City’s Upper West Side, two strangers meet by chance. Over drinks, Amanda and Wendy realize they have much in common, especially loneliness and an intense desire for revenge against the men who destroyed their families. As they talk into the night, they come up with the perfect plan: if you kill for me, I’ll kill for you. In another part of the city, Ruth is home alone when the beautiful brownstone she shares with her husband, Scott, is invaded. She’s attacked by a man with piercing blue eyes, who disappears into the night. Will she ever be able to feel safe again while the blue-eyed stranger is out there? Intricate, heart-racing, and from an author who “is the real deal” (Lee Child, 1 New York Times bestselling author), Kill for Me, Kill for You will keep you breathless until the final page. • AWESOME stand-alone READ !

REVIEW : I’ve read 2 books by this author, The Defense (Book 1 - ‘16 - READ '21 - 3 Stars) and Th1rt3en (Book 4 - ‘19 - Read ‘19 - 5 Stars). I still have Book 2, The Plea, which I haven’t read. The following books in the series are not available on Kindle and kind of turned me off reading Mr. Cavanagh: Bk 3 - The Liar, Bk 5 Fifty Fifty, Bk 6 The Devil’s Advocate, Bk 7 The Twisted and Bk 8 - The Accomplice. This book seems like a standalone novel so I’ll give it a try. Each time I thought I knew where this book was heading it took another turn. What a thriller this book was for me! So fast paced! I can’t say much more about this book; I don’t want to ruin it for others. Just know this was not your typical “I kill, you kill” plot; so much more! ... show more

  • Amazing!!
Kill for Me Kill for You is one of those stories that has you rooting for people you have no business rooting for as they live in fear and anger due to the horrible injustices they have experienced in their own lives. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆? Have you ever started a story and figured you have it pegged from the beginning and you’re pretty certain the path it will take? Yeah, that’s what I thought with this book and man was I ever wrong! This story was a complete trip, and as soon as I realized that I didn’t have a clue where it was going, the tension amped up even more. Cavanagh Took the revenge trope and completely flipped it on its head! 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲: Suspense Twists Revenge Psychological Thrillers Morally grey characters 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲? With twist after twist and some jaw dropping revelations that I’m still reeling from; I could not get through this book fast enough! It’s one of those books you binge because you NEED to know what happens. 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸? This was such a fast-paced story that made me feel like I was watching it on the movie screen…annndddd…believe it or not (y’all know how skeptical I am with adaptations)…I would love to see a movie adaptation for this entertaining and tension filled thriller! So, grab a copy and get ready for a wild ride! ... show more

  • You will be obsesed with this book!
Creative, thought provoking, horrifying, real and tense. Great twists and surprises. Quick read - clear the day! Told in multiple narratives, this book showcases grief and loss, recovery and the challenge of how do you move on. Amanda - her 6 yo daughter was taken, tortured and killed; her husband killed himself shortly after from the guilt; the police were unable to convict the suspect. She spends her days stalking him, determined to kill him for the justice denied her and her family. Ruth - a woman attacked in her home, struggling with fear and agoraphobia; desperate for resolution. Farrow - a dedicated detective, obsessed with solving cold cases and those too challenging ... show more

  • Superb thriller
There is sizzling suspense in this take on the movie ‘Strangers on a Train’. Amanda is suffering the deepest pain imaginable – the deaths of both her sparkling daughter and her life partner. Anyone who has ever lost a loved one to violence will relate to Amanda, feel her anguish and need for justice. Nothing dulls her pain, not alcohol, not pills, not the bereavement support groups that are supposed to be a comfort. The detectives in her daughter’s open murder case try to encourage Amanda, but the perpetrator may not be punished. A woman at one of the support groups proposes an alternative form of justice. She’s had a similar loss without satisfactory closure. So she’ll take care of the man who murdered Amanda’s daughter if Amanda does the same for her. The plan goes awry and events spiral beyond anything you could predict of expect. The problem with revenge is that it doesn’t bring an end to the pain of loss. The story is set in New York, the perfect place to be anonymous, hide in plain sight. It is related alternately between characters as the tension builds almost unbearably. It’s one of those plots that you say ‘of course it was them! ‘ when the murderer is finally revealed. I kept thinking I should’ve seen that coming. I guessed a few details but there are multiple false leads, red herrings and so much deception it made my head spin. I felt like kicking myself for not piecing it all together. It was a great read from an author I have never read before, but he’s on my radar now. Thank for the advance reader’s proof of “Kill For Me, Kill For You” by Steve Cavanagh, Atria Books, provided by NetGalley. These are always my own honest personal thoughts and opinions given voluntarily without compensation. ... show more

  • Twisty thriller
Two women, attending a grief counseling group, become friends and bond over the murder of their children. They agree to exact revenge on the guilty parties. It seemed predictable, until it wasn't. Kept me guessing with the shift in narrative. Good suspense thriller.

  • Unexpected
Just when you think you know what is about to happen, the plot changes. Just a brilliant read and worth the late nights to finish it
