I bought four of these lights to change out my living room can lights. They were incredibly easy to install (I am an electrician and have worked with many similar lights of different brands). They are great for lighting up your room, however, they are not very good for using with a dimmer. The lights I've installed in my house flicker at any intensity setting aside from max. If you are not planning on using with a dimmer switch these are fantastic. But if you want dimmer use, look at other products. ... show more

I needed to replace some 4" halogen recessed lights in my living room and dining room (4 in each room). Even with low wattage LED replacement bulbs in those fixtures, the transformer still drew a lot more power, and the 4" lights did not throw enough light in the rooms. However, I also did not want to start ripping out the drywall ceiling. Fortunately, I found these lights. The old lights were "cut in" fixtures, so I was able to remove them and disconnect the wiring. Once that was done, I expanded the 4" hole to a 6" hole, connected the wires to the new fixtures, and then put everything back in place. Each fixture took me about 15 minutes to replace. These 6" replacement lights throw a LOT more light thant the 4" halogens. The light is a very nice, warm white. There is NO HUM or flickering. The instructions say that they work with a dimmer switch, but I can't test that right now because I don't have a dimmer installed. Overall, these are a great, affordable way to upgrade the look and energy effeciency of your lighting. Very easy to install. Well made. The only critique I have is that they do not come with a template to mark the ceiling for cutting out the hole. I had to carefully measure the inner diameter of the light fixture (and account for the bulges caused by the spring tabes), then transfer those measurements to paper using a compass. I then cut out that circle and laminated it with box tape to make a reusable template. It would have been MUCH better and easier, though, if the manufacturer provided a simple paper template! ... show more

I ordered these and my son put them in my kitchen ,they made so much difference in my lightening and i was able to get rid of the old fixture cap the hole and now it looks so clean and much more modern ,i am going to order more for other rooms in the house

Nice looking, simple to install, and the adjustable color warmth make these a fantastic purchase. Can be installed in under 10 minutes. Between our former home and current home, we've installed approximately three dozen of these lights (all retrofits) and have no complaints whatsoever. Indeed, when we took the old "cans out we found that some of the holes in the ceiling drywall were not well cut. SUNCO to the rescue. They sell "Goof Rings" that cover the mistaeks. ... show more
