The lights are bright, lighter and more compact that the fluorescent units, easy to mount and well priced. This is my second set, so far they have been reliable. The only negatives are I wish it was easier to flush mount the lights and the power cords could be a bit longer. With the small size, low power draw, low price and long on/ off switch cord (12' ceiling) I've been able to set my garage up so it is plenty bright when I hit the wall switch, when I need to do close work I pull the string on two more lights and the garage is bright like a hospital operating room and, even with all the lights on, they draw less power than the old florescent lights. The light is also much more pleasant than the flickering "everybody looks like a cadaver" light from the florescent tubes. Unlike the old lights the LEDs come on when you hit the switch, they don't flicker and play "I might come on or maybe I won't" like the old lights. The LEDs also make no noise, again, a big improvement over the old set-up.

No one wants to have to contact a company when products sent to them malfunction or aren't quite up to expectations, but when one does and the experience is a satisfying and positive, the bells should ring LOUD and Clear. These people did an excellent job in handling a faulty part. I connected with a live support person immediately and had my replacement part on its way very quickly. As far as how these stoplights installed, they were a breeze. I use these kind of shop lights to do jewelry photography and they were top notch. Mounting 11 of these overhead gave my photo studio excellent daylight lighting. They connect to one another so that once they are hung and all ganged together it was easy to plug into a switched outlet in the ceiling. They are very light and would do well hung from a suspended ceiling. All of the hardware was included. I hung 8 of these units in about an hour. Because these are LED's the lack of ballast which is necessary in the old florescent lamps make them very light in weight and they are much brighter than the old florescent lamps. Because they have an off and on pull chain, the lamps can be adjusted for the necessary effect no matter what your project is. The LED's use much less energy than the old florescent lamps which saves money. Customer service was above and beyond expectations. I will definitely order again.

I researched dozens of different lights for our garage ceiling & settled on this 8-pack (frosted) from Sunco. A bit overkill on my part, I know, but crawling around in the area above my garage to run multiple electrical lines to new outlets is a pain. So, with one run for a new duplex outlet in the ceiling, I arranged 2 lines of 4 lights in a "U" configuration and the results are amazing. I no longer need to carry a flashlight in order to find things. Initially, I was very tempted by the lower price of the many single bulb options, given the added flexibility of how they can be arranged, but many buyers reported garage door remote control and radio interference, and more importantly heat. Many of the shop lights listed on Amazon are labeled "EU" to indicate the manufacturer has claimed the product is made to European standards. However, I learned no one really checks to verify this assertion and there is no product testing required for the EU label. Also, the more I read, the more I did not want to risk home insurance issues should there be an EU light caused fire. This is a very important consideration you should not not discount. I decided the marginal added cost of these Energy Star/ETL lights because ETL conducts comparable product testing to that of UL. As for shipping, Amazon got them here within a fews days and every light arrived undamaged and in good working order = I could not be happier. One note of caution, the "S" hooks used to connect the chains used to hang the lights are very stiff and closing them with pliers is more than challenge. I was unable to fully close them so take care as you hang each light to ensure each is properly hooked to the chain and to the light before you let go of the light. I did so and all went well.

These units are easy to hook up and easy to hang. I previously had 8 florescent tube fixtures in my basement wood shop. Even though I had replaced the cheap, low power ballast that came with the unit to commercial ballast, I was still having to deal with bulbs that wore out and became dim. I replaced all 8 fixtures with the the Sunco units. They are half the size and a third of the weight of the old units and product a lot more light then the old units. I had already had junction boxes in the rafters that the old lights were hardwired in to so the only thing I needed to change was to go from hardwire to installing a single plug outlet. Now I can see when sanding and finishing my projects.

These lights are a lot better than I expected in this price range. They are probably not top of the line, but the quality seems very good. The packaging was very good and included all of the chains, cables, hooks, screws, and anchors that one would need to hang the lights by several different methods. There were several items included that I did not use, but that is much better than not having everything you need The installation instructions were quite good but there is one potential problem. The instructions say to crimp the S-hooks with pliers, but the S-hooks are such stiff metal that this is very difficult to do. And if you try to crimp the S-hook onto the tab on the light, it is very easy to go too far and break the plastic. Actually, a lesser quality and softer S-hook would have been better. The lights were installed in a workshop and they are great. I would definitely purchase Sunco lighting again.
