Seems to be good quality, I have always been concerned with the temperature of these since there is virtually no clearance between it and the mounting surface so I ran it for 20 min on its side with pigtails and the metal plate in the back was 147 degrees

I am extremely satisfied with the performance of these lamps. I 've had some difficulties with the installation of previous lamps from other manufactures that required a metal can to install, unfortunately all the lamps that I needed to replace did not have such , I many cases I only had an electric box where all cables were redirected, so when I learned that this lamps only require such electrical box I decided to purchase them and see what happens. Lightweight, compactly made, bright - everything you would expect frmo a modern (2023) light fixture. Much refined and simplified from similar lamps of about 10 years ago. The fairly fine wire (#18 maybe?) is stranded but I was able to get it into push connectors without issues. I prefer that type to wire nuts when doing numerous overhead installs, its just mechanically easier for me. Significant problem #1 - when installing to an "old work" J box (the type which inserts into the ceiling from below) they wil not sit flush to the ceiling. Leaves a gap all around about 1/8" ; this is due to the flange of the Jbox. Any other surface irregularity could cause this. Looks bad and will collect dirt, insects, etc. and should have been totally avoidable in the design. I have installed other similar lights and none had this problem. Problem #2 - the screw hole spacing seems slightly small, its a very tight fit when putting in the second screw. Maybe they used a metric measurement instead of a true inch value? You can make it work, just makes the installation harder than necessary. (After doing a few dozen of these this kind of thing does add up). Problem #3 - the diffuser cover is hard to screw on and off - just a lot of friction and you can't get a good grip. And the screw direction is backwards! It is CW to loosen, CCW to tighten, very odd. ... show more
