  • Great purchase!

Awesome shed for the money. Easy to put together, good quality, and it surprisingly has a lot of space in for storage. Prime shipping was great as well, they put it inside my gated area to keep it hidden.

  • Good quality product appeared to be made / packed in the US
Style: Outdoor
It was delivered at 1 pm by NSD as promised. NSD driver called me 30 min before the delivery confirming I am ready to receive it. The driver put the box in my garage, “immediate dry area” without any additional charge. A good thing was none of the materials was damaged as it came in a super heavy duty (2 to 4 layers) cardboard box. It appears the shed kit was made and packed in the US, not a cheap foreign made. The assembly was made by me with occasional helps from my wife. Before the purchase, I downloaded the assembly instructions from Suncast website and read it carefully to see if there are any difficulties during the assembly. The manual is well written and easy to follow. I am an experienced handyman but it takes me 4 hours to complete due to a problem with roof panel (see below). There were a few things about the assembly I want to mention. (1) there are many “Truss Head Screws” designated as “BB.” I used a battery powered screw driver with low / medium torque clutch setting. It is important to find a proper torque setting as I drove the screw into plastic. When installed Plexiglass door windows, I stopped the driver just before the window pane starts warping avoiding extra stress. (2) to put the wall panels together, it uses plastic “Easy Bolts” which are very fragile. You must use the included hand driver and stop driving as soon as you hear clicking. I wish I had something better. (3) placing the roof panels on the walls / front & rear headers was super tough. There were 6 sets of grooves and tongues which need to align and get fully engaged by sliding the roof panel. Since one roof panel was warped, I had to use a gas touch to straighten the warp by heating the concave side. The ridge beam should not be tightened with hex bolts until the roof panels were installed. I believe it is important but not mentioned in the manual. I just want to share my experience with future purchasers. Overall my wife and I like the product quality. it seems Suncast cares about its products and customers especially judging from design and packaging. ... show more

  • Sturdy, straightforward to assemble - but be prepared to troubleshoot
Style: Outdoor
Amazon's scheduled delivery worked out great, the shed arrived in the time window and the driver kindly wheeled the box to my backyard. Box was intact as were all inside contents. Building the wooden foundation was the single biggest time investment (this is going on a porch with a slight slant, so there was a little more involved in planning and cutting the lumber). I assembled this myself without much difficulty besides these few issues: 1. A couple of the holes in the sides for the plastic 'bolts' were not completely drilled through. I ended up using a 5/8" spade bit to get through - a utility knife couldn't cut it; 2. I could not get the sides of the windows to seal no matter how little/much tightening I did of the screws. I'll probably drill additional holes and use more screws, or perhaps cut a thin piece of reinforcing material to apply pressure along the entire side; 3. Same with the screening - while the holes in the screen seemed to align with those in the headers, I couldn't get the screen to really lay down against the plastic tautly all the way around. I taped around the edges using outdoor window film tape; 4. You'll need a second wrench to tighten the bolts for the ridge beam. Speaking of which, don't tighten these upon initial installation. I found I had to loosen these in order to get the roof panels on. I tightened them again after both roof panels were installed; 4.5. The ridge beam also needed a little modification to fit into the ridge brackets - it was a little too wide at the open side. Standing on it with my heels at the open side and giving myself a little bounce was enough to compress it sufficiently to fit; 5. Having an A-clamp or some other type of light-duty quick clamp is handy to hold the tops of the sides together during installation. You'll only need one. Another person can also fulfill this function; 6. The roof panels needed a little encouragement with the rubber mallet to slide completely into place. I'm pleased with the instructions and final appearance/function of the shed, and it's just the right size to fit on our (unused) back porch. ... show more

  • Inexpensive, sturdy shed for garden tools and such
Style: Outdoor
I bought this shed so I would have somewhere to store stuff near my backyard patio. I wanted a place to keep my broom, the bird food, throw pillows for the outdoor chairs, the pooper scopper, etc. I installed it next to my house in June 2018 and so far I'm really happy with it. I went ahead and built a wood platform for it. I just followed the instructions in the user manual. It tells you what size wood you need and how to assemble it. I'm not a very handy person, so if I can do it, anyone can. I went to Lowe's, picked out the wood and had them cut the pieces for me. (I just barely managed to fit the pieces into my Subaru Forester; be sure you can get the wood home.) Once the platform was built, I leveled it the best I could using cinder blocks and pea gravel. See the pic I posted. Assembling the shed took a few hours. I was able to do most of it by myself, but did need a hand getting the roof on. Everything went smoothly. Just take your time and follow the instructions. See the other pic I posted for the finished product. The only minor gripe I have, and I really do mean minor, is the right door doesn't seem to close all the way. At the top of the door where it meets the left door it sticks open about 1 cm. But that could be my fault when assembling the shed, or it could be the platform. We've had some heavy rainfall this summer and the shed is holding up great. Everything inside is staying dry. Really happy with this purchase. Exactly what I wanted. ... show more
