So far I have bought three of these. My first got attached to a deep cycle battery in my RV. That battery was unfortunately severely depleted a few times while in storage so it is not capable of holding full charge. This solar charger has enough output to overcome the battery discharge and has kept it at 100% for months. After that experience I bought my second in order to maintain a car battery of a vehicle that is rarely used. I did not test this battery but the vehicle started right up when I needed it. Previously I had to used a jump starter. Third was recently purchased for a car whose car alarm and other "features" will run down a battery in 2 weeks if the car is parked. So yes, I will give this 5 stars +++

10 Watt review. Our Mazda doesn't get driven very often any more so I bought this to keep the battery charged between drives. It seems to be doing the job. Battery is holding at 12.42 volts after 6 days of using it. It was rather low at 12.02 before I installed this solar charger. The hardest part is finding a spot that gets sunlight all day long. Now for the bad. If you want to attach this to the outside of your windshield or to the top of the hood, the suction cups are not long enough. You can get two of the four to work, but the controller on the back of the solar panel sticks out farther than the reach of the other two suction cups. That's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. 20 Watt review: Works great on my old 95 Sonoma. But I'm wondering if it works too great. After a week I checked the battery voltage and it was at 14.83 volts. It shouldn't be that high. Should be around 12.5 to 12.7 volts. So now I don't keep it hooked up continuously.

Only had for a few days but so far so good. Doing exactly what it says. I have it mounted outside with about 35feet of cable from it to the battery. So its rated at 21.6Volts when testing with a multi meter DC volts. Im getting about 19.23V but it running 35ft on 16Gauge wire so that little 2V loss is very reasonable. I posted a video...It is charging the battery and I like that its kind of thin but doesnt feel cheaply made. I like that you can test it with direct connection and DC volts..Some of the other trickle chargers you need to have a meter that can read 10A of current (if the wattage is high enough)...and it would need to activate etc...over engineered im my opinion. This thing isnt ...its simple but does the job of maintaining the battery. I LIKE IT. hope it lasts over time.

I have been researching, debating, shopping, reading reviews for a very long time and felt like I found what I was looking for in this 10W charger so I purchased a few months ago. I buy and sell a few cars as a hobby and in some cases the car sits a very long time before I get around to selling. I do use pug in battery maintainers on motorcycles and cars in a garage that are close to AC power but I needed a good solar charger as I have a few cars in my back yard that I try and start and run but during winter months I forget, This 10w version is perfect. I check the cigarette lighter, 12v outlet in my car / suv to make sure the inside 12v outlet does not turn off with key ( Use a cell phone charger with led light to check yours ) but I prefer to use the inside the car plug simply so the unit does not sit in the rain, as I understand it has no issue with rain but I siply keep it in the front window and it works fine. The #1 thing I needed with a charger is that it had to have the built in maintainer "smart" electronics as I did not want to overcharge my battery. Looks like many other small solar charges does not have that smart box but this unit does! I was surprised to the build quality as it looks and feel better that I was expecting. I have an older SUV that the battery was getting old and weak and failed to start. I did charge the old battery with a plug in charger but I then connected this solar charger and the car sat but this unit kept the battery charged, The 10w version I find perfect for keeping car batteries ready to crank! Happy With the product!

18 months, this unit is in the front window of my 2004 Silverado.mAtwomyewrvold Interstate battery.. Plugged into cigarette lighter that is not switched but connected to the battery full time. I drive my Silverado once a week or so. Battery was dead last week so full charge on a 15:amp automatic charger. Driven 20 miles. Park in driveway with solar cell receiving full and partial sun. Today, really dead battery, no lights even. Five days. Did the solar cell backflow and drain the battery. Nothing else connected. Time to order a different solar charger.
