We travel abroad several times per year. I was so tired of a sore upper back, neck, and shoulders after a long plane ride. So I tried this thing. Omgosh, it was amazing. First, it deflates to a tiny box so you can easily carry on. Plus you can use it in a variety of ways, from filling the void between you and the window, to cushioning your ribs from the hard armrest, to leaning forward on. I liked it so much I bought one for my husband and best friend, who travels with us. Side note, it folds so small that she didn’t know I had it when we went to Italy last year and I sat right in front of her. The medium is a good size if you aren’t overly tall. I’m 5’2” and my husband is 5’10” and we both felt it provided support and back pain relief. It’s also easy to sanitize. Highly recommend to make air travel slightly less miserable. ... show more

Compact and easy to use!!

I read a LOT of reviews before buying. Pros: - You can lean forward and sleep in a car or plane - It’s easy to deflate and put back into its bag (I read a lot of complaints about this, but in my experience deflation and careful rolling is quick and gets it easily back into its bag) - Packs small Cons - It’s pretty big in the seat, so you have to work around it if you don’t want to deflate it. - One of my arms fell asleep even though I put it through the holes. But hey! At least I got some rest!!! - It’s big enough that on my ultra cheap (hand-baggage-only) trip, I didn’t want to waste precious space carrying it. Oh how jealous I was seeing someone else sleeping with theirs on that 5:30 am flight. - It has a strong odor. But even though I am allergic to latex and sensitive to strong odors, I have no problem putting a sweater over it and laying my head down. Great addition to flights!

I've used the neck pillows that don't provide support so I went on the hunt for something better. I fly a lot and this seemed to fit the bill. There was a slight odor (think plastic beach ball) upon opening, but I followed the instructions and washed it quickly in the shower with dish soap, rinsed, and then hung under a ceiling fan to dry. The smell was 90% gone. I used this on at least 6 flights before writing this review and here's my thoughts. Pros - small (about the size of a pair of socks), comfortable material, easy to inflate, super easy to deflate, versatile. Cons - not enough air flow if you put your head face down in the opening and the cap/valve cover pops off easily. This easily fit inside my bag I take on the plane. The material is a soft velour type material and it took me a few more than 5 or 6 breaths to inflate, but not many more. Be prepared to get some weird looks from passenger and flight crew with this thing, but in the end...it works! I was able to get sleep and rest on my flights. I liked the versatility of being able to partially inflate it as well and use as a side pillow up against the window. My only negatives of the product are the valve cover cap has a little ring that popped off several times as I moved the pillow around in front of me in the ever decreasing size of the plane seats. The other thing I noticed is, when you put your head face down in the hole in front, it's tough to breath as there really isn't fresh air that reaches you. Although I found that to be the most comfortable position, I had to turn my head to the side to get fresh air. Another nice bonus that I first thought was cheesy were the eye covers. These things work fantastic and are super comfortable! Combined with the pillow I felt like I was in a deep meditating space and would recommend you give it a shot. ... show more

Not as comfortable as advertised.

The pillow helped with a very long flight but it was not as nice as advertised. The hole for your face is slightly too large (I have a normal head) so my head slid through putting too much pressure on either my forehead or chin. After about 30 min I would wake up with that spot hurting. I also had one of my 4 flights (9-12 hours each) tell me I couldn’t use it. She said it wasn’t safe. The other three flights didn't say anything. Side sleeping was good. And it was super easy to blow up and store. It made the very long economy flights about 25% less painful. ... show more

Quality Product that will make flying less frustrating

I don't fly long distances very often but last year when flying from NYC to Rome I got basically no sleep at all which made it hard to stay awake while driving up to Tuscany. On our trip home the guy across the aisle from me had one of these bad boys and I was envious, so this year I bought one for myself! There were others to choose from, but their reviews said that they weren't well constructed - this one is very well made with good quality material. I did read other reviews about pre-washing it to get the smell out and I'm glad that I did because it really didn't come with any instructions except for a small sheet with 6 drawings on how to use it. The hole to put your face in is a perfect size for me and my wife - I forget if it was this product or some of the other competitors that had reviews that it was to big or too small, but that's certainly not the case here. I took 6 full breaths to blow it up - but to be safe, don't blow it all the way up until your plane has reached cruising altitude and the cabin pressure is stable. It has a large hole for you to use to blow it up that secures very well once you're finished. The large hole also makes it very easy to deflate it and get it back into it's small travelling pouch. The sleeping mask is also of a higher quality that what you get for free on board your flight and the ear plugs work well too. All in all I'm glad that I made this purchase! ... show more

Fatal flaw. Unusable.

The mouth piece that you inflate with is so huge that even if you manage to get your mouth around it and inflate... so much air will disappear in the split second you take your lips off and try to secure the plug that it will never be inflated enough to be functional. No superhuman speed will fight the laws of physics on this one. I had to just discard it while traveling—I wouldn't have been back in the U.S. within the return window regardless, and it was just junk taking up space—so I can't get a refund. Just another case of money down the train for some terrible made in China product with an unusable design. Steer clear. ... show more
