I recently purchased the Sun Laboratories By Giesee Dark Sunsation Sunless Tanning Lotion, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results! The scent is incredible—not overpowering or chemical-like, which is often a concern with tanning products. The color it provides is so natural and even, without any streaks. I tested it on my legs first, and the outcome was flawless, giving me the confidence to use it on my face next with a foundation brush. My only minor complaint is that the product didn’t come with a tanning mitt, as some reviews mentioned. Luckily, I already had one on hand, so application wasn’t an issue for me. However, it would have been nice to have one included for convenience. Overall, this tanning lotion exceeded my expectations with its long-lasting, ultra-dark finish and smooth application. I’ve been using this for years. While you have to leave it on for 3 hours before shower, it’s totally worth it. Make sure to exfoliate before and after applying for a great, week long tan. No orange hands, elbows or knees!

I have been in the fashion and beauty business for over 20 years. I was trained in the art of hair and face by the first invasion of the British scene. Namely Vidal Sassoon's. I have personally tested over 75 self tanners. I ownd a salon that was recognized by Cosmopolitan magazine as being "one of America's hottest salons". My salon employed a number of tanning beds. I've owned personal self ran spray machines. In other words.... I know my s#%t.!!! Today's subject is a review on SUN... VERY DARK & SUN ULTRA DARK. Let me begin with this. There the same formula. One is no darker than the other. Confusing. First thing SUN should address. Now the product. In the 75-100 self tanners I have used, I've never rendered any product a 5 star review. I'm picky and firm.... and honest. I've used self tanners that cost between $4.00 and $80.00 dollars. No 5 stars yet. 1,2,and 3 stars make up 95 % of any product I have used. Again.... Now SUN. SUPERLATIVE. I'll keep it simple. I look for texture, fragrance, spreadability, moisture content, and economics. Then last of all I rate the color. Sounds backwards I know. But isn't. SUN is the nicest texture I have ever used. Jergens lotion has a beautiful texture also. But don't play consumer idiot. Jergens is lovely to apply, but is too thick. Manufacturers know this. Thick means usage of more product. More product means more sales. SON IS Much thinner, yet not at all runny. It spreads beautifully. Goes a long long way. Fragrance is gorgeous. Not overpowering cherry almond smell. Has a built in bronzer. You know where you have applied and what you missed. Works far better on faces than most. Common problem with self tanners is that they can profusely dry out the skin. I've been scared in the morning to look at my facial skin. Sometimes I've looked 10 years older from increased wrinkling. Also most self tanners play havick on age spots, liver spots, moles. They get overly dark. SUN isn't nearly as guilty of this infraction. Must use a glove or mitt as usual. Mitt better. Absorption is excellent. Bleeding issue is excellent, as in I'd doesn't. Sheet and clothes transfer exc. Economics exc. Buy the 32 Oz. Shop around before you do. Go for a bundle. My seller was very exc. Some problems with order. Immediately rectified. In finishing, I'll say this. The only reason. I did not give this product a 5 star rating is this. I found it fell slightly short in its darkening ability. When you coin a product VERY DARK OR ULTRA Dark, then you had better live up to that. SUN fails to do this. It no doubt will dork better for people as ith pale or lighter pigment. If hour looking for that dark Brazilian tan... this isn't for you. One of the greatest self tanners I've ever used. A SOLID 4 STARS. If they'll listen to me, twill be a 5 star product. Only one I would have ever used. Also.... forgive me, I forgot earlier to mention.... This product has a very neutral base tint. Not olive, and thank you Lord.... NOT AT ALL ORANGE or overly warm. Natural looking. Thanks for you time.

So after looking at reviews on youtube.com and reading up on this particular tanner, I went ahead and bought a bottle about a month ago. I just used it today and may I say, I don't know what I was waiting for. I know there is a system, exfoliator, tanner, and maintainer. I, however, just bought the tanner. I have these exfoliating wash gloves that I bought for a few bucks at the store, and I just use my normal body wash. I shaved, exfoliated my body, and after I was dry applied this to my entire body, including my face. I love the fact that the color of the lotion is a dark brown, but as you apply it, it actually has a greenish tint to it. DO NOT BE ALARMED, you will not turn green, and certainly will not turn orange. I am a very fair person, and I found that ultra dark or very dark whatever it is, is perfect. My skin was givin and instant glow, and since I was able to see where I was applying, Blending was easy and there was no streaking. I applied it carefully to my face, making sure I blended well into my neck and ears (you don't want the tan to just end). After each section of my body, I used the exfoliating glove and some soap to clean my palms well, as they were almost mud colored lol. My back was the hardest, as it should be but with some interesting twisting and hand swiping, I evenly blended the lotion, and GOT no streaks. When I was finished I took a round cotton pad, and dabbed it in hot water, went over my eyebrows, my nose, the bridge of my nose, my mouth and jaw line into my neck. Since the color is instant, you can fade it naturally doing that so there is no buildup in a particular spot. In a few hours the color deepened nicely, and at first I thought I could even use another coat, which i may do another coat on my legs, they are especially pale. BUT my arms chest back and face have a wonderful sunkissed glow. Everything is even, and it is as if I went on vacation. I loooove this product. I've used other self tanners before, this is the first one I invested in, but for $20 or so, you really aren't paying that much more for this, when Loreal and those other ones in Rite Aid cost about 10-15 and they do not give the same results. Not to mention the color is completely different. I had a bad self tanning experience a few years ago. I then began to use the tanning beds, and while that did give a rich tan, its expensive and its not healthy at all so take it from me, if you want a nice color, buy a few bottles of this stuff and you will be completely satisfied.

I got very dark lotion. I am fair toned, very fair. It gave me a subtle glow.... very disappointed. After reading reviews and seeing pictures posted I was hoping this would work! I guess I will stick to my mousse self tanners for going dark. What I do like about this is it could be used every day or couple days to maintain a darker tan, or if you just like a subtle glow that also, i has hardly a scent to it which is refreshing! The only way I can smell it is if I sniff my arm directly putting my nose on my arm and even then really can’t smell much! It isn’t sticky or gross feeling, dries very fast, no streaks or weird staining, looks VERY natural and felt hydrating actually( I have dry skin!) normally self tanners I feel SO gross after but not this. I’ll continue to use it to maintain my tans but I won’t be using this as my main source of self tanner. Also it does have a green tint to it at first but it develops within 20 minutes for that subtle glow- very natural sun kissed glow.

I have very fair skin and need sunless tanner to give me color during the spring and summer months. I've tried a few different products (fake bake, jergens daily lotion) and wanted to continue to try my options. The Good Things: This first thing I really like about this lotion is its smell. It's sooo nice compared to the others out there. Even once the perfume of this lotion wears off the sunless tan smell is so faint. I like the pump spout. It helps to dispense an even amount of product on your body. Once on your body it doesn't wipe off on your sheets or clothes. The color shows up in about 3-4 hrs, maybe sooner honestly. Pretty nice natural color, doesn't look orange. Apply at least 2 times a week to maintain the color. The Bad Things: I found it to be a huge pain to put on. It seems like it would be easy to put on because it dries fairly quickly, but it gets splotchy in places that aren't perfectly exfoliated, even when you have exfoliated. The frustrating thing is when sunless tanner starts to come off, it comes off kind of patchy. Those patches can almost be impossible to exfoliate off unless you make yourself bleed to get all that skin off. An easy fix is to apply either a sunless tanning lotion or another layer of sunless tanner to cover it up. If you do that with this sunless tanner it will cling to those places when applying and create dark patches that don't blend very easily. Also, if you want to go over a certain area and put a little more tanner on, DON'T. I made the mistake of doing this on my upper thigh and ruined my previous application. The sunless tanner clung together and just started to clump on my leg with the previous application of tanner and just made a huge mess. I had to wash my leg off and start all over again on that leg when I had just finished. I've never had to do that before with any other tanner. And on another note, it also made my chest break out. All in all I liked this product, didn't love it. I would use it again simply because it smells so good and the color does look nice. However I don't think I'll be buying it again right now. Mainly because the application process was such a pain. I'm going to continue to try other products before the summer gets here. I've been applyiing sunless tanner for years and would put this products application at expert. It's hard to do but not impossible. Everyone's body/skin is going to be different. I was looking for a product that worked well with my skin, had a nice smell, a nice natural tan color and had an easy application and this product didn't quite check all those boxes.
