This should be 5 stars .... except, changing out the cutting blades is a little messy and takes a bit of patience to install. With that said, still a 5 star gadget! What dinged the rating is the hedge blades. Sharp, but they could be higher quality .... then again the price would be higher. i will use this until it begs to be buried. Perfect for delicate, small areas around trees and shrubs. Trims Vinca vines perfectly. I just hope it lasts longer than I expect! This is the second Sunjoe trimming tool I have. The other the extending, multi-head yard manicuring necessity. Hedge trimmer, fantastic. Weed Eater ... not a fan. Tiller ... works well but requires experienced skills. Over all Sun Joe products are an affordable and durable brand for me. OMT - I do not like cordless tools, small ones ok, the reason is the batteries are heavy (any brand) when extending arms out front or above shoulders, so I stick to economic and eco-friendly corded tools. Best price I could fine. I like the product. Recommend it, but be careful - has all plastic gears inside and not cut anymore yet the motor is running. The plastic cheap gears will knock off their teeth if you catch one too many times things like small rocks and twigs the jam the cutters. Doesn’t take too many times either. Pay close attention to exactly what the cutting blade may have in it’s cutting path. Otherwise - works very well. ... show more

I have used this for trimming EVERYTHING! Battery lasts longer than me so really a GREAT battery. A really good buy for me. Can’t recommend THIS tool enough! Battery last a long time. Cuts well. Easy to use. Lightweight.

First off the battery holds a charge a long time. Really surprised. Light weight so I can use no problem. Can’t hold a regular sized hedge trimmer. One of my best purchases. Changing blades is a snap. Two tools in one. My yard maintenance is so nice

I got this to do light duty trimming around my raised beds, garden & yard. This does the trick for me. The only thing I don’t like is changing the blades. The cover that keeps the blades in place is difficult to remove. Otherwise, this new “gadget” ( as my husband calls it) is a really good tool in my garden toolbox. ... show more

These are so easy to use and the perfect size. Can’t believe I was trimming my boxwoods with Fiskars before this. It took forever! Do yourself a favor and get these.

This saves me a ton of time for what I need it for but I will level-up to something a bit more pro next time I get a tool like this. I need more “beef” to feel like this thing is my ride or die. Good for now.

    • I love it!
I’m sure my lawn critiquing neighbors laugh at me constantly but I don’t care! The one across the street literally owns a lawn care service. But I use this for ALL my trimming, around trees, rocks, landscape pavers… EVERYTHING! Rather than fight with our “auto” string trimmer that supposedly doesn’t require bumping. Which is true, because it’s constantly jammed up and I have to take it apart whenever I need more line, which is like every minute or so? So I’m sure they’re over in their kingdoms with perfect lawns laughing at me bending over trimming, but I can do it all in a fraction of the time and only have to do it about every other time I mow because I can get super close and under rocks with it. I adore this handy little gadget. The battery lasts forever too, I’ve gotten a few rounds of trimming AND shaping my boxwoods on a single charge. The only downside is that it doesn’t fully replace a hedge trimmer for cleaning up large shrubs like the 5.5’ tall yews we have in the back yard. Some of the new growth is still too much for it, and it more chewed up the shoots rather than cutting them, but I hate them so I wasn’t too worried. The job got done. It’s fantastic on smaller manageable yews like in the front yard (soon to be ripped out, to be replaced with reblooming azaleas) and boxwoods. I seriously love this little dude. DH can fight with the string trimmer, I’ll use this instead! ... show more
