I’ve been using the Epson F170 for a few weeks now and overall I’m happy with it. It’s a great option if you’re just getting started with sublimation. Print quality is excellent, and colors come out vibrant and accurate on items like mugs, t-shirts, and keychains. I really liked that it’s ready for sublimation with genuine Epson inks — no hacks or conversions needed. Just keep in mind that the original inks are not cheap and run out faster than expected. Also, you need to print regularly to avoid nozzle clogs. Still, it’s a solid choice for small businesses or personal use. I did some thorough research on sublimation printers before I purchased this one. It got the best reviews for my price range. I was honestly expecting trouble setting it up and using it, but nothing could be further from the truth. It was easy to set up and calibrate and worked great from the very first print. The colors are clean and crisp. It was super easy to connect to my home internet service and very clear instructions were provided. I've only used it a couple of times in the 5 days I've had it but have had no problems at all. It doesn't take up a huge amount of space, which is vital for my already overloaded craft room. It's not noisy at all. Filling it was super simple and there was no mess at all with the ink bottles. I've made a couple of shirts and cups. Thus far, it doesn't seem to guzzle ink. I'm delighted with it and feel that I made the best possible choice. The only 'negative' isn't really about the printer at all, but the sublimation paper that comes with it. It's super hard for me to tell which is the 'right' side on which to print! It would be so handy to have some kind of mark on the 'wrong' side so I don't screw that part up! I purchased this printer 2 months ago. I have printed 75 full sheets of transfers for tote bags, slates, mugs, and magnets. I have printed photos and full color images, and the ink level is still at approximately 80% for all colors. The images come out crisp, and the colors are accurate. The printer was easy to setup. Once I started using the printer and doing transfers, I noticed the colors were not printing exactly right and there was a shift in rendering accurate colors. I did a LOT of research and tried multiple setting to correct the issue. Burnt through an entire box plus of transfer paper to no avail. I have contacted both Epson and seller as well as Amazon. Epson refers back to seller to handle warranty. Seller advised to request a return but because outside of 30 day window, the system won't allow so they contacted seller to request a return and were denied. Amazon opened a "A-Z Guarantee" claim which was denied because the product was sold and shipped directly from the seller. When I sent another message to seller stating Amazon requested a return but they denied, I was told they never denied anything. I am out $424.99 with a printer that is faulty, a "warranty" that no one will honor and companies that just play the blame game. DO NOT BUY SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM A THIRD PARTY! - Outside of these issues, the printer was relatively easy to set up and get started with on mac. ... show more

    • Purchased new, Returned due to Manufacture defect, received a refurbished product in return
When I purchased this sublimation printer, there was a manufacturer defect and I could not complete setup. After communicating with customer service, I returned for a replacement. I purchase the printer new, but the replacement I received was refurbished, while I don't think it affects functionality, I was very unhappy to receive a product that was not new. I guess time will tell ... show more
