The first time I tried Suavecito, I was highly disappointed. It was way too thick, dried hard like a gel and the scent, although pleasant, was too strong. I had ended up giving it to a friend who preferred to use gel products for his hair and he was pleased with it. Since I had recently gotten a little shorter of a haircut, I decided to give it a second chance in hopes I had just gotten a stroke of bad luck. It definitely was a bad batch. It's the perfect consistency and spreads evenly. It dries like a pomade should, giving just the right amount of flexibility to brush through it should you need to. The hold is also perfect for my thick and heavy hair. I usually use products with a stronger hold but this original formula, I don't need to try the firme hold product, it would be too strong. And the scent is definitely lighter, not so potent and it totally adds to whatever fragrance you wear or as a standalone. If you're looking for a good pomade for your undercuts, gentlemen's cuts and pompadours while being soft to the touch and smells amazing, Suavecito is your perfect pomade. ... show more

It’s suavecito! Bottom line- If the scent don’t drop your girls droz then it certainly dropped her friend who leaned in for that extra long whiff. Next thing you know this pomade has your phone vibrating in the middle of the night from “Pizza Hut”,talkin bout you need to deliver that extra L sausage pizza at a designated area; at your earliest convenience and need it piping HOT! Sorry Ugly but not sorry, this customer has that extra pep in her step that you just can’t commit too. But remember your still the one I’ll come home to. I needed a pomade that provided a decent hold throughout the day but didn't cake up or flake. I have a business cut with a slight fade and I need my hair to retain that professional look during the day. I gave Suavecito a shot and I am very happy with the results. Opening the jar for the first time, I was very happy by the smell of the pomade. It is a slightly musky yet sweet cologne scent that is not overpowering by any means. I hadn't told my wife that I had tried Suavecito and she said that the scent smelled really good, which is a lot to say considering she doesn't care for most cologne scents. I took a finger scrape from the jar, rubbed it in my hands and worked it into my slightly damp hair starting from the top. The product went on very well and was easy to work into my hair. I styled my hair with a Kent comb and was able to easily style my hair. My hair was left with a good hold that didn't make me feel like I have helmet hair. The hold stays firm throughout much of the day and if I ever need to touch it up a little towards the evening, I just I apply a little water to my hands and work it into my hair and comb it through. The hold naturally isn't as strong as the first application but still decent. The product is super easy to wash out with just water too. If you have a business cut and looking for a good hold I would highly recommend this product. ... show more

We love this product..so I don’t want to give it a bad review for the contents inside, that part is great, we’ve used it for years. But “how” or “whoever it was” how it was packaged is ridiculous. We bought three, they were packaged in a clear bag. The one in the middle, had a large split in the lid, and the product must have melted and went everywhere on the packaging, and the other two containers we bought. It was a mess. Now, the container with the messed up lids product is hard and not usable. When you spend money on product you don’t want to get a “so-so” product and have to “deal with it” maybe they can consider adding more padding to the product. Very disappointed. ... show more

I liked the hairstyle I could accomplish with this product. The hold was strong enough to handle my shortish hair that doesn't always cooperate with pomade. The pomade was also very easy to apply.. The only thing I didn't like about the product performance is that after it dries, you need to add a little water to restyle. You can't run your fingers or comb through it after application to restyle unless you add some water. This is common for water-soluable pomade though from what I understand, so not a huge deal. But I requested a return for this item because of the scent. The scent itself is not so bad, it is like cologne. But it is very potent. Too potent IMO. I felt obnoxious to those around me. But I know other reviewers find it to be a pleasant scent experience. At this price, I still recommend trying this product to see if its for you. ... show more

I have been having a terrible problem with a halo of baby hairs growing back after post pregnancy hair loss. My hair has been sticking up every which way as it grows back and I look like a mad scientist. I have used hairspray, and they popped up. Blew dry the pieces and they stick back up. Gel and they stick back up. I finally tried this stuff and a little dab actually works. Just don't use too much or you'll look like a greaseball! And be prepared to smell like a man. But to me, that's better than looking like an absolute lunatic with uncontrollable hair! ... show more

Overall a pretty average water based pomade. It's a thick dark amber colored gel in the container. The manufacturer refers to it as creamy several times but it's just a mildly sticky gel, nothing creamy about it. Mixes into hair well and spreads nice with a comb. Fairly weak hold compared to other products in this range, but still more than enough for most clean styles especially with shorter hair. Where this product really missed the mark for me was the scent. It's odd because they seem to be really proud of this "signature" fragrance. It smells like Febreze. Exactly like original Febreze. Also, this isn't a light scent or one that disappears after a little while. It's there ALL DAY and can be smelled several feet away. If you're someone who likes wearing cologne you might want to look at another brand or try to find frags that layer well with air fresheners because you've got no other choice here. ... show more
