It foamed up like a shampoo, which was nice, but my long, thick hair made it difficult to apply all over my scalp. It worked great for my fiance's short hair, though. Recently, I started oiling my hair. I saw a bunch of videos that mentioned that if you're oiling your hair, you should have some scalp scrub to make sure you can get rid of all of the build-up. I've been oiling for about a month now and using this when I was oiling. I don't know if this is what is helping or if it has a factor in my improved hair but my hair is so much softer and healthier feeling.
