  • Good stylus for the money
My daughter recently got a refurbished iPad (9th generation) to use primarily for art and for writing. She had the opportunity to try her sister-in-law's iPad (with an Apple Pen) and that convinced her that this (the iPad) is what she needs to continue with her digital art and with her writing. We've started trying to get some accessories for her, and particularly for the art, a stylus of some sort is pretty much a necessary item. Her words: Overall, this is pretty good. I do think I am going to get an Apple Pen at some point, but that can't happen quite yet. The instructions are really, really thick. Mostly because they have something like five languages, so it is a lot of pages. I ended up pulling out the three or so English pages and getting rid of the rest. This says it has the pressure sensitivity, but it doesn't really. It's hard to explain what this does, but basically for digital art, the harder you push, the darker the line. And the lighter you push, the lighter the line. Given the price of this stylus pencil, I don't consider that a failure though. This is way more affordable. This is weirdly hard to shut off. It tells you how to turn it on, which is to hold the button on the end down for two seconds, and that works perfectly fine every time. Basically you hold the button until the light comes on. Turning it off, you are supposed to tap it three times. I end up tapping it as I'm drawing, whether that is against my arm or against my thumb, I'm not sure. But that does stuff to change the volume. I don't think it is supposed to do that. According to the instructions, if you tap it once, it turns the volume up. I find that part more than a little annoying. It says that it has the magnetic thing on the side to connect it to an iPad, which it does. But there is a little cap thing for the charging (which I appreciate, as it keeps the plug part from getting dirty), but if the cap thing is on, it doesn't connect seamlessly to the end of the iPad. That would be problematic, but it fits perfectly in the case that I have, so it isn't really an issue for me. From what I remember of the Apple Pen, this is a little lighter. The indicator light is really bright (but I am really sensitive to light). It ends up flashing in my eyes as I work, and when I turn the pen to hold it with the light away from me, as I go double-tapping and all of that, it twists back so it is flashing at me. This is not an Apple Pen, but it is a small fraction of the price of an Apple Pen. I will absolutely continue to use this until I save up some money for a bigger purchase. Oh, and it connected to my iPhone, but didn't actually work with it. It might if you fiddle around with it, but I don't plan to use it with my phone, so I didn't try to fiddle with it to make it work. I was just checking that to try to be a bit more thorough in this review. ... show more

  • Great OEM Pen Replacement
My kids use their iPads for doing educational work. The use of a pen improves their accuracy. OEM pens are expensive especially when taking abuse from kids so this pen a a great alternative.

  • Basically, OK
At 15% of the cost of an apple pen, one cannot expect all the bells and whistles, and it doesn’t have them but it seems to perform satisfactory at a basic level. It doesn’t charge wirelessly and I wonder how long it takes to lose that tiny charging port plug.

  • Easy hook up!
I bought this pen for my iPad 10. It hooked up automatically and worked flawlessly. Easy to recharge and recharge as quickly.

  • Surprisingly useful
A little touchy in that it turns on without warning. No power switch. Connects automatically with no need to pair. Touching the end will increase the volume, but not turn it down. 😟 It is a good size and comfortable in the hand. Handwriting on the iPad Air works great. Well within my price range for accessories. ... show more

  • Got this for work
I've been assigned an ipad.. but I'll say this. It connect right away! I was shocked. Works well but if not used for awhile it will shut off.. and can be difficult to find how to re activate. When not used daily batter has lasted 3+ weeks.

  • inexpensive alternative
The packaging is the same esthetic as the Apple Pencil. It's decent in its response. I've played with drawing, sketching, and coloring. It's generally pretty easy to use as a pencil. I'm still learning how to use features and tricks like how to erase, cut and paste etc. I do like the writing feature. The iPad translates my handwriting easily over to text. I haven't used the Apple Pencil so I don't know how it holds up comparatively, but I do know it's much less expensive. The price is a fraction of the cost. I've been using this for a few weeks now and haven't seen any downside yet. The charging is intuitive. ... show more

  • Good for basic functions but doesn't replace an Apple Pencil
The media could not be loaded. Good for basic functions but doesn't replace an Apple Pencil. First, the responsiveness isn't great. For example: the first tip it came with didn't work at all unless the pencil was practically laying against it - the tip registered nothing. I swapped it and the second tip works better so hopefully the first was just a fluke. This pencil has a few shortcuts such as a double tap on the top to bring you to home screen. or swiping from left bottom corner to top right for a screenshot. Nice that it charges via USBC as well since that's what most things use these days. Overall, a good replacement for basic stuff but put head to head with the real Apple Pencil and it falls short of its competition. ... show more
