Don't PUSH. Just TAP the end twice to turn-on, TAP twice again to turn-off. 3, 2, or 1 little LEDs light-up telling you it's on, and the level of charge. Charge lasts a pretty long time, and then use the INCLUDED USBc cord to plug into a USBa (like your older Apple iPhone charger - the smaller ones). No pairing, no bluetooth to turn-on, just turn it on and start writing or tapping on your compatible (newer) iPad or iPhone screen. Apple software has no problema with it. Write in notes and it converts your handwriting to typed. Aand magnetic - sticks to the side of newer iPads! Fantastic overall !!! ... show more

Works perfect. Didn’t think it through but hadn’t really used it enough to realize when the tip needed to be replaced but when you can see a metal tip and it’s no longer plastic covered, it’s time to swap them. Super easy to do and charging is quick for hours of use.

    • Lacks pressure sensitivity for artists.
As a professional illustrator, I use an Apple Pencil solely for artwork, using the apps Procreate, Fresco, and Photoshop. Pressure sensitivity is a must for my art style, where the opacity of the brush stroke varies depending on pen pressure. My Apple Pencil has had heavy use for 4 years and has been dropped multiples times. It has some glitches now and seems like it may need to be replaced. So when I came across this lightning deal -- a stylus pen purporting to work just like an Apple Pencil for under $20 -- I had to try it. Does it work? Yes. It has tilt function and palm rejection. It is responsive and easy to draw with. But there is a huge drawback: there is NO pressure sensitivity. At least, not the same pressure sensitivity as the Apple Pencil, and that's a deal breaker for me. How long does it last? I don't know. I've only had it a day so can't remark on battery life or how long the stylus itself will last. This would be a great pencil for note taking or using in a coloring app or making artwork that doesn't call for opacity or color variation. It will work fine in limited situations. But will it be a replacement for my Apple Pencil? No. I'll give it to a family member who takes notes on their iPad. Artists, if you're looking for a more affordable Apple Pencil replica, this isn't it. ... show more

    • Just one flaw: The magnet is on the charging port side
I'm shook that people would buy the apple pen (except for maybe artists, of course) because this works so well, much better than the "dumb" styluses that don't connect to the iPad. However, it does have one downside. The port cover isn't flush with the pen and the magnet is on that side, so even though I purchased a cover for my iPad that accommodates a magnetic pen, the pen doesn't sit flush against the iPad because the port cover won't let it. I have an Apple Pencil and I recently purchased this one to compare it, just in case I wanted to use while the Apple Pencil was charging. This pencil works great! I haven’t noticed any difference to be honest between the two. The only thing is you have to physically turn this one on to use it by touching the top of the pencil two times to turn it on, then again, two times to turn it off. No big deal. So, if you are wanting an alternative to the Apple Pencil, but don’t want to spend the money, this is the pencil for you!! Get it!! You won’t regret it!! ... show more

I bought this b/c I didn’t feel like spending $100 on one from Apple! So far it has been awesome. They send you replacement tips as well. Battery life on it is pretty decent as well and works with my iPad!

This is my second time buying this pencil because I loved it THAT much. The first time , it had completely went out on me. I took my loss and called it a day. Reordered it, its doing the same thing ! I thought my screen protector was making it lose its sensitivity to the screen but nope , i took those off and it still didnt work…. all of a sudden though it started functioning again .
