I bought this pen for my granddaughter (2year old) to create drawings on my iPad. I really didn't want to buy an Apple version for a 2 year old to play with. So, thinking I would purchase this for her to use and if she broke or lost it I wasn't out much. And I figured the cheaper one probably would work as well, but that a 2 year old wouldn't know any different. The pen was delivered 2 days ahead of scheduled delivery, 1 brownie point for fast delivery. I broke the package open and found current technology, a compact USB plug for charging and a short charging cable. I plugged it in to begin charging and, like the instructions indicate, it was completely charged in 15 minutes. Double clicking the ball on the end turns it on and off. I turned it on, started up "Freeform", handed the pen to the 2YO and she was off and running. Now obviously, she does not have the fine motor skills developed yet and her movements are pretty jerky, but the pen performed flawlessly. She played for hours. The biggest issue I found was, she would turn it off without knowing how and would get frustrated when it didn't work, but grandpa to the rescue, turn it back on and off and running again. This pen is well worth the price of admission. I've not used the Apple pen, but can't imagine it performs any better. This one is good enough I've purchased another one for myself.

I didn't see the other reviews before purchasing I hope you see mine at least before you decide to click buy. Do not buy this. It does not work. Straight out the box WILL NOT CHARGE. As someone who grew up with tech and even have trach certs I know how to troubleshoot, so I did... repeatedly. I used other cables... different outlets... you name it I did it. After exhausting what I knew I looked up here and finally saw the reviews. Wish I waited till I got home to look before I bought on my cell. To be fair I was going to get a refund... but it is NOT WORTH IT. I don't have time to drop it off. If I had time to do that I would have bought something instore versus online. So I will eat this cost and learn my lesson.

I bought this pencil for my 10 yr old. They wanted to start drawing and decided to try this one. Box came with everything needed. Had a charging cord, different tips for the pencil and a small bag for everything. The sensitivity of the pencil is great and it doesn’t take long to charge fully. Easy to connect and turn on. The sleek design of the pencil is easy to hold, fits their hand and maneuver around. Stays connected and is compatible with their tablet. The durability is good too, they drop it a lot, but doesn’t have a scratch on it. Very happy with my purchase!
