I am seriously impressed by this starter drum set. I studied percussion for several years in my youth and have been on the search for an affordable set that my child could learn on. We're delighted to have found this one, especially because we own other Strich equipment and have found them to be reliable. Setup was as arduous as you would expect it to be. There is a lot to this kit and it takes a little elbow grease to put it together. Check the video in the product listing media. It lays everything out for you. My first impressions were that the kit is 1. comprehensive and 2.) quality. The components feel like better quality than one would expect from a starter kit, even down to the mat and stool. Everything is included. You can gift this to a budding percussionist without them having to buy a single thing extra. Wow have electric drum sets come a long way. The instruments are highly responsive. I haven't detected any latency. In fact, I found that they feel more natural than the practice pads of my youth. Of course, you miss that natural accoustic reverberation but the sound is there all the same. Speaking of sound, there are multiple output options and a whole range of presets. I actually worry that my kid will approach it more as a toy than a tool to master, but after the initial novelty wears off, I'm sure it will be fine. And with the way music is these days, knowing how to manipulate preset loops is a required skill. Our next step, in fact, is to see if we can connect this to his iPad Pro to integrate with Logic Pro. My only reservation about this kit is its large footprint. There's no way around that. Drum sets take up space. I truly appreciate Strich's attention to user pain points by adding the foldable feature. I just don't see us using it as a habit. In practice, this will need its own space. We currently have it shoved into the corner of my kid's already-tight bedroom, which made it difficult to capture any useful media, but once it finds its permanent location, we'll share some of the details that can't be gathered from the product listing alone. We own other Strich starter instruments, supporting gear, and musical toys. They've held up really well. I think Strich is one of those up and coming music equipment brands that are becoming better known in the music education sphere as an accessible equipment resource. They've been sorely needed.

This Strich drum set is legit. First off, my 15 year old daughter assembled it and she said it was a breeze! Next, she jams on this thing for like four hours straight. Third, the synthetic sounds are pretty good… definitely great for a bedroom setup. Fourth, the feel of the drum skin mesh is actually pretty decent. Finally, the conclusion: This drum set is GREAT for a starter set. The only real gripe I have is that the included headphones are not very good… but I have my own, so no biggie… wait, I should mention that this set has everything.. rug, throne, headphones, sticks.. YES! My kids are playing the heck out of these… I’m still waiting for my turn!

This electronic drum set provides an excellent all in one package that includes everything needed to start playing immediately, from the throne and headphones down to the drum mat. The triple layer mesh heads have a very realistic, natural rebound that feels great to play on while keeping the noise down for home practice. The built-in LED lights on the pads are surprisingly useful for visual guidance during practice, rather than just being a novelty. Combined with some solid built-in coaching modes on the module, it makes learning and tracking your timing much easier. It is a well put together, functional kit for anyone needing a quiet and complete practice setup at home.

I don't personally play the drums, but I've raised several musician kids, including one who became a drummer and is now an adult. Because of that, I've seen everything from inexpensive beginner kits to professional equipment, and this impressed me for its price point. The mesh heads feel much better than basic rubber pads, the kit feels solid and well built, and it's quiet enough for home practice with headphones. I also really like that it includes the throne, drum mat, and speaker, making it a complete package for someone just getting started. Overall, I think this is an excellent starter kit that offers a lot of value.

Model: SED-T03 I got this as a way to get back into drumming after many years away from the hobby. We had drums at home when I was younger, and I wanted something that would let me start playing again without needing a full big setup (and acoustic since I have neighbors). For that purpose, this kit has been excellent. It is beginner-friendly, compact, relatively quiet, and includes enough features to make practice fun while still offering room to experiment. The setup process was easy and straightforward. My main recommendation during assembly is to build the entire frame first before adjusting the height or organizing the cables. Once everything is assembled and positioned, cable management is much easier and the overall setup feels cleaner. Though keep in mind there is no way to hide all the cables. In my opinion, we ended up bringing them around the two standing tubes and then across the middle. All of the components worked properly out of the box, and I didn't have to do any troubleshooting after following the instructions. I will say they were a bit hard to understand at first so I recommend reading through them BEFORE you begin to understand what's what and where goes what. Everything is labeled! The mesh heads are one of the strongest parts of this drum set. They feel much better than basic rubber pads and provide a more natural playing response. The toms are pressure-sensitive, so different strike forces produce different sound levels, which makes the playing experience feel more dynamic and realistic. The kick and hi-hat controls do not have the same advanced sound-stopping response that some higher-end electronic kits may offer, but they still perform well for beginner practice, casual playing, and learning basic coordination. Sound quality is good through the included headphones, but the kit sounds much fuller when connected to an external speaker or amplifier. With a speaker, the drum tones have more presence and the kit feels more exciting to play. The built-in reverb effect adds a concert-like echo, which gives the drums a bigger and more immersive sound. I do wish the kit included an aux cord, because that felt like the one missing accessory. We already had one available, so it was not a major issue, but including one would have made the package feel more complete. I also like the variety of built-in drum kits and the ability to customize three of them. This gives beginners a chance to experiment with different tones and find a sound that fits their playing style. The coach mode is easy to follow and very useful for new players. The LED light-up pads are also a major highlight because they make learning more interactive (as a visual learner, THANK YOU!). They help guide timing, improve rhythm practice, and make the kit more engaging, especially for beginners. I have not fully explored the USB MIDI features yet, but I am excited to try them with tutorials, recording software, and additional practice tools. Having USB gives this kit more long-term value because it can be used beyond basic standalone practice.
