I am very happy with this practice amp

I got this Strich SGA 20 amp for practicing at home and it has quickly become my go to setup. The lightweight, slim design makes it easy to carry from room to room or even take out to the backyard for a quick jam session, and the built in handle makes transport even easier. Despite its small size, the 20W output surprised me with how full and clear the sound is, giving my riffs plenty of punch without needing a bulky amp taking up space. Switching between the Clean and Overdrive channels is simple and gives me a lot of flexibility whether I am working on softer melodies or want a grittier rock tone. I also love that it comes with a headphone jack for quiet late night practice and an AUX input so I can play along with backing tracks from my phone. These features make it feel like a much more advanced amp than its compact size would suggest. Build quality is another highlight. The corner protectors and scratch resistant finish give me confidence that it can handle a few bumps without showing wear, and the non slip rubber pads keep it steady on the table while I play. Surprisingly Good Clean and Edge-Of-Breakup Tones

While I have my share of modeling amps and modelers, and enjoy them, I come from the I play mostly smaller solid state amps, including my old Peavey Studio Pro 40 I’ve had since the 80’s and seems to be enjoying a bit of nostalgic reassessment – who knew! Out of the box, I can get a very usable clean, dark humbucker tone for lower volume jazz. Blending the gain and volume can make it slightly dirty for blues. The overdrive channel doesn’t interest me, it’s harsh, but I’m the wrong guy to say whether that’s desirable or not. You may want to use pedals for additional sound shaping. There’s no reverb or, for that matter, any standard effects. The EQ includes only treble and bass, I’d recommend keeping the amp flat and sticking an EQ pedal in your chain. I realize a decent EQ pedal is more than the amp but it’ll give you a surprising amount of color. For 20w it sounds a bit low cranked to my ears, although it’s clearly at least in the 10-15w range. Definitely adequate gain for clean practice at home and with a bass player or keyboard. I really like the size of the amp, there’s something that feels proportionally right about it. I got it in slate blue, which leans towards a dark powder blue. If I chose it again I think I’d go for the yellow, thinking it closer to a “faux tweed”.

Great amp for the price

I am working on having music gear in every room of my house...ok, not really but it's happening. I wanted to get a compact amp for my spare room so that I could play in there when the other rooms were occupied. Who wants to lug gear around in their own house. This portable amp from Strich was the perfect size for this need! I am using it for guitar, bass and keyboard at the moment and it's quite impressive for such a small amp. The volume won't get so loud that it hurts, but that's exactly what I was looking for. This is a no-frills amp, so if you have pedals to pair with it, you'll get much more out of it. For my keyboard though, nothing else is needed. Great for practicing or for travel. Overall, a very decent value from Strich.

Good little practice amp

I got this because I wanted a small amp to fit in a small space under my desk, just to use for a little practice here and there. Saving space was my primary concern and this fits the bill there perfectly. It is a remarkably small amp and is also not very deep front to back either. It's a very simple, no frills amp, so don't expect too much (no effects and just one distortion sound). It's not something you'd ever want to perform with anywhere (I'd be embarrassed to take this out), but it suits the purpose of just giving me less reasons to not practice (since it will live under my desk). Plus, it's hard to argue with the low price of $48. A solid 4 stars.

Nice Solid Cabinet That Delivers Good Sound Quality And Tone.

This is a nice solid 20 Watt practice amplifier. It's definitely a nicer cabinet than I was expecting and it had a nice tone. It has your usual amplifier controls gain, bass, treble and your master volume. You also have a line in for an MP3 player and of course you had your headphone output and you're clean and drive button for your distortion or just the reverb both sound really good on this system. You can hook an electric guitar, bass guitar, microphone to use as a PA system, or even a keyboard. It's got a nice sturdy carrying handle and the cabinet again like I said is really nice not quite impressed by it actually considering the value what they have it at this phenomenally good in my opinion. Overall it delivers really good quality sound for a 20 amp practice amp there's no crackling of the speakers there's no static a straight clean sound or your distortion if you want that with a push of a button. I really like it it's versatile for me it delivers that good sound quality looks nice I like the color and it's lightweight to make it easy for traveling I would definitely recommend it well worth the value. And it comes with a cord for your guitar or whatever instrument you're using the 1/4 TRS cord. Another plus with the system.

Portable, small, loud, and an awesome value

I need to start this review by stressing this is taking into account the size and cost of this little portable practice amp. This in no way replaces a legit full size larger amp. Having that said for what it is this thing is awesome. I wanted a little amp to have on my dresser so I could play a bit without having to go down into my studio or to be able to bring with me when traveling. This little amp surprised me with how loud it gets. It also has a headphone jack as well which is perfect for a travel amp. The sound out of this surprised me as well. It was a lot better sounding than I was expecting. The drive leaves a bit to be desired though. I put a little reverb and delay through this thing with out any drive and I was truly impressed with the sounds I got out of it. For the cost this little amp does its job. It’s truly quite small as well which makes the loudness of this thing that much more impressive.
