The Streamlight 75458 Stinger DS LED HL is a high lumen flashlight that provides 800 lumens of maximum illumination. Its wide beam pattern gives you a bright flood light that will light up the area around you, and the switches on the head and tail cap provide maximum versatility. Compact and extremely powerful, the Stinger DS LED HL rechargeable flashlights offer 3 microprocessor-controlled intensity modes, strobe mode and the latest in high power LED technology. The Stinger DS LED HL includes a second independent easy to locate tactical tailcap switch. The combination of rechargeable batteries and the LED results in one of the lowest operating costs of any flashlight made. 3 Lighting Modes plus Strobe. Streamlight flashlights are pricey and I will pay that price everytime I need a new light! Streamlight makes THE very best flashlights for tough environments and temperate ones! My Stinger DSLed goes with me eveywhere. I use it at work in a rough gactory environment everyday and it DOES NOT FAIL! The led is BRIGHT! The strobe function seems useless to some, I'm sure, but makes an excellent signaling device and attention getter in a high noise level setting like mine. The aluminum body is incredibly durable and has survived many drops to a concrete floor with no problems. The two switches might seem redundant but the tactical tailcap switch is very handy in a multitude of tactile situations that don't always allow for the head switch to be actuated. The piggyback charger works FAST and the extra battery provides even MORE flexibility in terms of run time. If you are judicious in how you use one of these lights you can get a couple, three days of usage on a single charge, as I do. But, if you have to turn it on and leave it on for lengthy periods of time, the battery on the piggyback charger is there at your disposal! I actually have a xenon stinger that I've had for over ten years and BOTH batteries STILL hold a fantastic charge and the light works flawlessly! This was my work light for years til I upgraded to the LED but continues to serve me and my family as I have mounted it beside the light switch in my bedroom. Eveyone knows EXACTLY where to go for a flashlight that WORKS for ANY situation! I can't say enough about Streamlight flashlights...they just work! ... show more

This light is solid for the money. I also have several surefire lights including the lawman r1. This streamlight stinger I really admire. It's quality built. It is 400 lumens lower than my lawman but it's not that noticeable of a difference. This light is blindingly bright. Love the tail switch and that all you do is hold it down to cycle between power levels. The one thing this light has over the lawman r1 is the readily available aftermarket parts available. For example, try to purchase an aftermarket oem battery for the lawman; its non existent. Without their proprietary battery you will only get 750 lumens from the r1. I have read nothing but raving reviews about the streamlight stinger family and I can see why. I have read a couple of negative reviews about a few stingers that failed but those are few and far between. I had to send in my lawman r1 for an internal electronics issue. Surefire sent me a new light but I'm just pointing out that any piece of electronics will have a certain percentage of units that fail. You will not regret purchasing this light. I Did purchase the piggy back model that came with an ac and dc charging cable set up. The only complaint is the charge time of 9 hours to fully charge a battery. Also the charger red light has no way of telling you that the battery is fully charged( will not blink -unless charging lithium ion battery - and does not turn color.) It comes with a spare battery already in the piggy back so you get 2 batteries already included so for the average citizen it should fulfill your needs. Also purchased a 2hour fast charger and one more nimh battery that should arrive this coming week. Will keep the fast charger in the car with the supplied dc cig lighter cable. Great setup for anyone in LE or security or just the average citizen looking for a great rechargeable flashlight setup. Pros Just the right size. Not too big or small. Will fit tucked under arm Comfortable handle Solid construction Dual switches Comes with a spare nimh battery(piggy back model) Included rubber anti roll ring protects bezel as well.
