Streamlight 74753 Strion LED HL Handheld Rechargeable High Lumen Professional Flashlight with 120-Volt AC charger. Ultra-compact and powerful, the Strion LED HL rechargeable flashlight offers three microprocessor-controlled variable intensity modes, strobe mode and the latest in high power LED technology. Output levels are High, 615 lumens with a runtime of 1 hour and 15 minutes and a distance of 219 meters plus an intensity of 12,000 cd. Medium, 320 lumens with a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes and a distance of 155 meters plus an intensity of 6,000cd. Low, 160 lumens with a runtime of 4 hours and 30 minutes and a distance of 110 meters plus an intensity of 3,000cd. The strobe features 3 hours of continuous runtime. Fits existing Strion chargers as this unit does not come with a charger. The Streamlight 74753 is fully recharged in 3.5 hours. The combination of rechargeable batteries and the high power LED results in one of the lowest operating costs of any flashlight made.

I loved this light from the day I opened it, everything as advertised. Then I took it hunting. On a half charge, I had the light on maybe 10 minutes on bright mode, had a varmint in my sites and then...nothing...complete black. I shook the light, it came back on...threw my sights back on the varmint (now running away) and then it quit again. I shook it, it came back on, then off, then on. I've recharged the thing a few times and it holds a charge 2 out of 3 times. The third time (or 5th or 11th) time, it hold about 1/10 charge. The nearest repairshop is 2 hours away. I'm buying a new battery and LED for it to see if they're faulty cause I don't want to give up on this package. ... show more

This is my 2nd Strion. The first was the 160 lumen (its 3 years and 4 months old). It is still on the original battery and has been the best light ever (until now). I'm a production mechanic at night and this is my light. It also doubles as my hunting light. I bought this package because I don't need the 12volt charger but needed another 110volt charger. This light is over twice as bright. I have heard about this one getting too hot. I does get warm but not too hot to handle. You have to realize that it's putting out 500 lumens out of a very small package. If it's too hot, then turn it down to medium which is the 250 lumen setting. I have tested it and yes it will run for 1hr on high. My other light will go 2hrs but its only 160 lumens. This thing has a great wide beam. They talk about room clearing...how about pasture clearing. This puts my 160 lumen to shame. I have not bought batteries for a flashlight in over 3 years. I charge it once a week. You do the math. These batteries put out 100% until it needs to be recharged. No need to remove a cap to charge a battery.... just dock the whole light in the cradle and your done. The only down side... is when the battery dies you don't get any warning. You go from light to dark in the blink of an eye. The run time on the battery is VERY consistent so this is easy to manage. Great bright light. I like the 3 different levels of brightness and the strobe features. I work at a Correctional Facility and this definitely gains the individuals attention. I would highly recommend this light. Also, I like the feature that you can never over charge the light. The only draw back I see with this light is the fact that it turns off when it is dead. I bought my first strion hl several years ago, and its been a work horse. It's been knocked around a bit and is still going strong. We needed a second light (walking dogs at night in a very dark area) and by mistake I decided to try something different for one reason. I ordered a pelican 7070R that had a battery life indicator on it. the only single drawback with the strion is that it works, is bright as can be, but when the battery dies....it dies. the light does not get dim when the battery goes weak, it goes from bright to off, with no warning. The pelican was horrible. it barely held its charge and needed to be recharged much more frequently than the strion. after about two years the pelican was shot (I suspect battery failure). I just ordered a second strion hl. I know if I charge it on Sundays its good for the week, and really regret I ever wandered and tried the other light. I know I can go longer than 7 days between charges. but I think two weeks would be stretching it, and this pattern works out well for us. The strion also has flat edges around the bezel which is great for laying on a surface when working on something, and it does not roll away. it stays where you put it. My only minor complaint is that a battery life indicator would have been nice, but when I got the other light that had one, it was useless. It would stay green for one use, then maybe two more it would start flashing red which was the final warning before it died. when the other light died the first thing my wife said was 'get another one of these' which was the light that was older and still working fine. ... show more

An extremely bright light and well-suited for general patrol. A word of caution however to those uninformed (as I was): the LED does not "fade" when the battery gets low - it shuts completely off. So, keep your battery charged or carry a back-up. Also, I have been having problems with the tail cap switch. Most recently, the light froze in the "on" position and it took several depressions of the switch to get it to turn off. I am currently awaiting a response from Streamlight to my request for a new tail cap switch under the terms of the warranty. ... show more
