My teenage nephew is pretty serious about bowling and he's really happy with this ball. It seems to be a bit slower down the lane but that might be because it's heavier than he's used to, or perhaps has something to do with the oil pattern of the lanes. He went from a 10lb to 14 with this ball , which I decided to go with that weight based on recommendations from series bowlers. We got it drilled to his grip. His game continues to improve so the ball definitely isn't holding him back.
