  • Better than expected.
Color: Espresso/Taupe Swirl Pattern Name: Solid
The chair was easy to assemble. It actually looks better than it's photo. The chair works very well and is comfortable and sturdy.

  • Great product so far!
I'm the wife of Caleb, but I'd like to write the review myself, as I use a rocker more often then my husband does. Durability: Good Rocking: Smooth and quiet Comfort: Great Price: Great Overall: Definitely a wonderful product! (Read below for full review) We bought this rocker to take place of the old family rocker that we've had in the family for 3 generations. We weren't looking for something too expensive, or made of solid wood that would last a lifetime, but something that would allow us to preserve the rocker we don't want to lose. Long story short, we have a 2 and a half year old, and very soon (I'm 38 weeks pregnant) an infant. My son that's 2 has a hard time falling asleep on his own, so he generally has one of us put him to sleep at night, or during his naps. It's hard to put him to sleep sitting in an old rocker that's falling apart and creaks badly due to the wood splitting, and I like gliding rocking chairs more for the fact that I've got relatively short legs that can't always reach the floor when rocking in a traditional rocking chair. I'm 5'3" and 170lbs to give you an idea of the weight being used on this rocking chair. We had received this rocking chair Tuesday 1/15/19 (I will be writing an updated review after a month, then a few months after purchase about how it's holding up) and got it together before my son's first morning nap. I got my son to sleep in less than 5 minutes rocking lightly in this chair, and was amazed it didn't creak or make any noise while rocking (or at least not audible for a tired little one to hear). The cushions are comfortable, and the material is very soft and I think durable. We did follow the other reviews to inspect every piece of wood before assembling (as we do nearly every product we order online), and test it with different people to check for wood splitting, or other broken pieces to make sure it was in good shape. The rocker came in quickly (less than 6 days), came in the color we wanted (white paint, dark grey cushions), and every piece was there and not broken in any way. After testing it for a couple days to see if the result was the same with my son (every nap, and right before bed), I could not imagine having anything else! My son every time for his naps, and going to bed at night, would fall asleep in less than 15 minutes! It was definitely more of a miracle for us as it usually takes us 30 minutes to an hour to get him to sleep. For those looking for a solid wood and extra durability on the chair, I would recommend looking at finding a carpenter to make you one, or find a local store that sells them, but I know for a fact that rocking chairs do not come cheap when they are made with more durable products. If you're looking for a rocking chair that will last you maybe a year or two, this one is perfect for the price. I've sat here and read review after reviews, both good and bad, old and new on this product and I understand the concerns people have about it, but mistakes can happen, especially with furniture. Not to be judgemental, but this rocking chair is definitely not made for those who are on the heavier end, I'd recommend a swivle rocking chair or a solid wood traditional rocking chair for those that are. Don't let these negative reviews fool you, this is a great product for the price, and so far have had no complaints about it, the ottoman, or the lumbar pillow (which these two were a huge plus for the price!) After about a month I'll post another review with how this product is holding up, and if it's still as I mentioned before. Update after 2 months of use: Even after using this rocker about 3 times a day with my 2 year old and my infant the rocker is amazing quality. Still rocks just as smooth as day one, still just as comfortable, and still just as sturdy. I would still buy this product again! Love it still! ... show more

  • Everything You Need to Know
Color: Black/Gray Swirl Pattern Name: Solid
1/26/24 edit: the armrest covers have snaps that hold them to the frame. They are annoyingly weak. My son kicks them off the snaps every night which causes the cushion to rotate and not cushion my arms. Minor draw back, but I hate it. In our house, the rocking chair is a staple in our sleep, reading, and relaxation routines for our son. So getting the right product is important! You want something safe, solid, and functional. This is overall a good chair. Below is everything I considered before purchasing, also including what I like and dislike about the chair. First, the pattern. 2/5 😵💫 I am not a fan. I didn’t realize there were white dots all over the chair. Normally I read reviews pretty heavily before purchasing, but I wasn’t very concerned about the pattern. It’s okay, not great. Just zoom in super close to figure out what pattern you’re getting. There is a solid gray as an option. The fabric also quite rough, almost like outdoor fabric. It’s a bit itchy on my skin. 2/5 for the one I picked but I’m sure other ones are nice. Material. 0/5 The fabric on the chair is polyester aka plastic derived from petroleum aka a byproduct of crude oil. I couldn’t find the chair material description anywhere (besides that it has a wood frame) on amazon. It wasn’t until the chair delivered that I read the tags. I really like the frame so at some point I will probably replace the cushions with an organic fabric and batting. Because polyester is synthetically made with chemicals, when it heats up, it can transfer those chemicals. For that reason, I’ll be keeping the chair out of the sun to avoid this until the cushions can be replaced. On a positive note, the chair is NOT flame retardant so you are avoiding those unnecessary chemicals!! The cushions (3/5) are also not great in terms of comfort, but it’s not the most uncomfortable chair. I can sit in it for contact naps and be okay. I was just hoping for higher quality cushions. The bottom is firm, which is nice. But the back portion is literally fabric stuffed with polyurethane (also plastic derived) stuffing/batting. I was expected more of like a couch cushion. The seat and back cushion both tie to the back of the chair, unlike what is shown in the product picture. Just a small thing, but nothing to note. Rocking chair frame 5/5 🤩. I LOVE the frame. It’s sturdy, glides silently, and is a beautiful design. It’s painted with non-toxic paint. I couldn’t find if it’s greenguard, or non-voc paint so not positive on the purity. Overall 4/5 stars because of those few drawbacks. For the price, it’s excellent. You won’t find a chair any cheaper with organic fabric and stuffing. We’ve had it only a few days now, but if anything changes, I’ll be updating the review. ... show more

Great chair. Comfortable, easy to put together. Looks just like the pictured. Definitely worth it.

  • This chair is beautiful and was VERY easy to put together
This chair is beautiful and was VERY easy to put together. Nothing was damaged. It arrived in perfect condition and all parts were accounted for including all hardware and an allen wrench. It literally took us less than 20 minutes to complete it. I can see how the holes in the arm rests would be difficult to match up to the bottom of the chair if you don't follow the directions carefully. The directions tell you not to tighten ANYTHING until you have the bolts all lined up, so align everything and get them started and then tighten them down. The fabric is beautiful. We chose the gray and white and it seems like this fabric would be very easy to clean. The cushions are soft and comfortable. I'm not sure where the reviews are coming from that state the cushions are hard. I mean, they aren't memory foam/ gel / etc, but they definitely match, if not surpass the price. The arm cushions are a big plus and are very comfy. I especially like the pockets in the side of the arm rests. The pockets aren't large, but could hold a couple TV remotes if needed. The back may be a bit short for taller people. I'm 5'2 and my head fits comfortably on the back with a couple inches to spare. My chair is silent while rocking. I do also find it odd that the ottoman has two seams. They may or may not be durable. If not, I still believe that this set is worth the price and I will happily just recover it. Update 2021: We have had this chair for 5 years now and it’s still going strong. It turns out the ottoman is really durable. Ours has lasted this long with shoes on it. Some mild creaks while rocking at times, but I bet we could fix that with some WD40. It’s not bad enough to really worry about it. It’s a very good chair and I’m still so happy we bought it. ... show more

  • Comfy
Color: Espresso W/Gray Swirl Pattern Name: Solid
I’m really happy with this nursery rocker! It feels very sturdy and well-made, and I absolutely love the color of the wood. The chair is also incredibly comfortable, which has made late-night feedings and rocking sessions so much easier. My only small complaint is that the seams on the chair are a little odd-looking in a few places. Overall, though, it’s a great rocker and I honestly wish I had bought it sooner! ... show more

  • Poor workmanship, Poor quality materials, Poor customer service
This item if very poor quality for the money. I considered some less expensive ones, but figured the StorkCraft brand was probably worth paying for, but, unfortunately, I can tell you it's not the case. Within three weeks of receiving this, and using it, the three seams on the top of the ottoman began to fray apart. I tried to mitigate the situation by putting a matching towel over the ottoman, to avoid stress directly to the seams. I emailed Storkcraft to start a claim, never heard from them. After two more attempts, and a call which was supposed to result in a follow up e mail, but didn't. I finally got a case number assigned and a detailed list of requirements for their documentation needs. I complied, and heard back that their one year warranty was for manufacturer defects, not wear and tear. If three seams that pulled apart in less than a month isn't a defect, I don't know what is. I am a very careful and fastidious person, and no one was putting excessive wear on the ottoman, just using it as it should have been designed to be used. Clearly, their MO is to avoid and deny. But, they did cheerfully tell me that I could purchase a replacement part at a cost of 68.00. All of this, and I have only had the chair for 6 months. SOME ONE-YEAR WARRANTY! They are a bogus company, avoid them if you care about quality. Buy the cheapest one--it won't be any worse than this one. ... show more

  • Design, Quality, and Value
Color: Espresso/Gray Pattern Name: Solid
This is a basic glider ottoman combo. I purchased for $190 approximately 2 weeks ago. There are several pros, but I expected more from this chair. If I could, I would have rated it 3.5. See breakdown below. Pros: 1) Easy to assemble. 2) Aesthetics: Color combination looks fantastic. 3) Chair: Solid wood looks great! Sturdy and only minor blemishes out of box. 4) Cushion: incorporates snaps and ties to guarantee a snug fit that stays in place. Sides also have pockets! 5) Pillow: lower back pillow allows user to recline a bit without feeling lower back pain. (Con: zipper component is white and starkly visible at end of pillow). Cons: 1) Cushions: the foam innards for seat, arms, and ottoman are thin, stiff, and crinkle when pushed upon. The back support is made of different innards and is more comfortable. The crinkling disappears as the chair is broken in, but the cushions remain overall stiff and thin--especially when compared to other brands I have sat in like Shermag or Dutalier. Additionally, the cushion cloth looks and feels like old suede--so worn down, less soft, and with a dull listlessness. The feel and look of the cushions are the most disappointing factors, making the entire chair look and feel a bit cheap up close. 2) Ball bearings: they make an odd clackity sound. Thankfully, some WD40 on the bearings took care of the sound, but the sound is starting to come back with use. At least there is no issue with function... 3) Value: it is a very basic glider-ottoman combo. It does not have a multi-lock (which is a wonderful feature), reclining, or nursing foot support in ottoman. As such, the price is much lower than most ($190) but still higher than units with comparative features ($140+). For the price, I expected a higher quality cushion. For $20-30 more, I could have bought a Shermag whose cushions are plush and soft and who's chair has a multi-lock feature. I did not because I did not like Shermag's color options and the were excessive reviews reporting issues with ball bearings. *If cushions were more plush and fabric softer with more life, this chair would deserve a 5 star rating. As is, 3.5 is appropriate. ... show more
