A lot of reviews are commenting on the poor build quality and the short lifespan of this product. I just ordered this product about a week ago and I will provide my input based off the first week of usage. Overall Impression: Overall, this chair is pretty good. I have yet to see any major issues that other users reported but It's not a perfect 5 star. Build quality is good and you get what you pay for but so far, it's been good. See below for some more detail. Assembly: The assembly of the product is extremely straightforward and easy. I'd almost argue it's easier than assembling a piece of Ikea Furniture. All the tools you NEED are included in the box. It is a simple hex wrench that is very similar to Ikea products. What may make it a LITTLE bit easier is a screw driver. I assembled the whole thing with just the provided hex wrench. The chair comes in four parts: The glide base, the back, and two arm rests. This doesn't include the padding. Once you bold all the extremities to the base, the pads simply button onto or tie onto the frame. After that's complete, you can enjoy your gliding goodness. The Ottoman comes in one piece that you just take out of the box. It's quite simple. Comfort: This thing is surprisingly comfortable. The pads (for now) are pretty cushy and hte spring loaded bottom of the chair gives you just enough give so you don't get a sore tail bone. Build Quality: Here's where a lot of people had issues. The build quality is not terrible, but at the same time, I did feel a little hesitant that if I put all my weight on any part (Back or arm rests) the thing would break. Over the last week, no issues have arisen and it's been pretty solid. Another complaint I've read is the glide has a scratching noise as if something is rubbing. I have not yet seen this issue either. Again, I've only had the chair for a week or so, so there's not telling what will happen. The cushions are comfortable for now but I can tell that they're not going to last very long. They are not a high density foam that's made to last, instead, they're a nice cushy soft foam that will wear over time. Pros: Easy to assemble Comfy cushions with pockets for storing things Cheap price Smooth Glide Neutrals: Don't think the cushions will last very long Decent build quality of the chair Cons: None to report yet. ... show more

Really love this glider. It was super easy to put together and it came with the foot rest already built which was really nice. Feels very sturdy, sat and rocked in it for a while. I can see myself just sitting in it even without nursing. The cushions are thick but soft, glides really smoothly, and I think the height and armrests are perfectly spaced. I have more neutral colors in my nursery so the grey was a great option for me personally. No complaints and I would absolutely recommend. ... show more

Before my son arrived my husband and I purchased a nice but pricey rocking chair and ottoman from Pier One. That chair was comfortable and beautiful but unfortunately we learned quickly that it was not practical as a glider/ rocker for a nursery. When my son hit 6 months we decided we had to use something else. Because we had already spent good money on the Pier One chair we didn't want to spend much on the new glider. The money savings was nice, but for me this chair is a regret. So at this point, I've had this chair for over a year and it's become just a piece of crap that I hate. For the price maybe I'm being a little hard on this chair, and maybe I shouldn't have expected it to last over a year but I'm wishing I had just spent more money for a nicer chair. The chair gets off to a good start, the cushions were plush, and clean and the glider was quiet. It was easy to put together. Now, the cushions are flat, every cushion (arm rests included)! Your butt will go completely numb after an hour in this chair, the pads are so thin. The chair squeaks, creaks, and clunks like crazy...its so loud. Lubing it up helps, for a week, then its right back at the creaking and squeaking. It is so irritating when you are trying to settle down an overtired fidgety baby/ toddler. The squeaking started after just a few months.... Now, one of the arms of the chair is completely coming off. First the handle started to separate from the arm then the arm started separating from the chair. I have the beige color, and its stained all over from my cats sleeping in it and from my son spitting up, dripping bottles, drooling and whatnot over the past year. Nothing gets the stains out. The fabric has also pilled in a few spots. The "side panels" that connect at the top of the arms down to the bottom have gotten stretched out. Every other piece of furniture in my sons nursery has held up and looks great, then in the corner is this chair with its stains, and arms coming off, and pilled flat fabric cushions, just waiting to squeak at me....taunting me! Bottom line, if you are on a limited budget and need a decent chair that you wont mind only lasting a year or 2 max, then this chair is good. I would spend a few extra bucks and get something a little nicer. ... show more
