  • Excellent Design / Sturdy Materials
This is a high quality product. It is well designed and sturdy. Assembly takes a while (80 bolts) but is not hard and the directions are clear. The precision / fit in terms of holes lining up, bolts/nuts/washers, levelness, nothing too loose - nothing too tight, etc. is exceptional for a consumer-assembled product. And it works! - holds bikes securely and much more organized than alternatives or simply kickstanding them in a cluster in the garage. I love this rack. A very solid value at < $300. Note - it does work best with 4 bikes; 5 is doable but very tight and not for the noodle-armed. If you are impatient, definitely less than burly, or simply will be unracking and reracking bikes frequently, limit it to 4. ... show more

  • UPDATE: from 1 star review
I bought this rack a few months ago and finally got around to putting it together. There are a totally of 9 steps to assembling this rack. Overall the instructions are clear but it may take you longer than expected if you don't pay attention; it is very easy to put something on backwards. Other reviews mentioned all the screws and bolts, overall I feel the abundance makes the stand as sturdy as possible. I am at step 8, the last bar to screw in, the very top horizontal bar and I realized when I picked it up, it is bent at the part that gets screwed into the vertical posts. Unfortunately because of it being bent, the holes do not align and therefore I cannot screw the last bar into place. I have an email sent to customer service for a replacement. I will update this review once I am able to actually use the rack. UPDATE: Absolutely fantastic customer service! I received an email within hours and a replacement part was sent quickly. The rack is not assembled and looks beautiful. 5 bikes definitely fit with some maneuvering of handlebars. I only put 4 bikes on it because I didn't feel like lifting my 52 lb e-bike. ... show more

  • Pretty cool overall
Everything went together fine with the exception of the top bar. It was twisted a tad so the washer would not go onto the bolt. I went and got a smaller washer from my stash so no harm. The hooks that come with the rack will not fit a fat tire bike so I have ordered the 4.5 inch hooks separate. We shall see. Also, I was a washer short (even with not being able to use one), again no harm... I used one of my own. Sturdy rack, looks good. Would recommend. ... show more

  • Good quality but tedious to build
I like this bike storage unit but be prepared to spend 3-4 hrs to build. The instructions were poorly written. Nothing is labeled. Read the instructions 2-3x before assembling. Holds 4 bikes nicely but challenging to hold five.

  • Very space efficient and sturdy
I have a small apartment and must store my four bikes in my living room and I need them to take up as little space as possible. I can't imaging a more space efficient solution than this bike rack. It's sturdy and about as good as I can imagine a rack being at this price point, with one exception that I'll mention below. ASSEMBLY: The rack took about an hour and a half to assemble. The instructions were clear, but you do have to pay attention to each step, because it's easy to make a mistake and have to back track. I have just one nit to pick with this stand, and that is that the bolts used are longer than necessary, so it takes longer than necessary to screw each nut onto each bolt. There are many bolts, so it really adds up and feels like a needless waste of time. DAILY USE: The stand is advertised to hold up to five bikes, and while it can, the more you have, the harder it is to take down the bikes in the middle. I have four and even like that, the it's harder to take down the two middle bikes than I'd like due to handlebars being in the way, etc. It's an acceptable compromise for me since I'm of average height and am reasonably strong. For shorter people and for people who aren't as strong, it could be more difficult to take down the bikes, unless the bikes are really light. That's a disadvantage inherent to all bike stands that hold bikes vertically. ... show more

  • Space saver, quality, great customer service
PACKAGING Quality. The product was delivered in a slim, well-reinforced box. Each piece was individually wrapped in thick plastic. I was surprised how light it was at only 35 lbs. each. The quick-release pins to secure the hooks were missing but customer service, described later, helped me ultra fast. ASSEMBLY Ok. Instructions were clear and overall it was easy. There are a lot of screws and washers though. Very light, yet sturdy. Tips: 1. There is a difference between the “upper” and “lower” vertical supports in that the upper has a plastic end cap. At first we didn’t recognize the difference and had challenges with rework later. 2. If you can grab a 10 mm socket bit for your drill you’ll be in heaven and save yourself a ton of tedious ratcheting. 3. You will need one 10 mm socket to screw in and another 10 mm wrench to hold the nut while you screw in. 4. Loosely tighten the screws in a particular section until everything is fitting together. USAGE You can easily position the hooks with quick release pins during assembly to best accommodate the spacing for your bikes and change them easily and quickly by removing the pin (not under load of course). We have four bikes so we did that and stowed away the 5th hook. From a practicality perspective it seems 5 bikes would be possible but it would certainly be tight and would probably tangle things up. But I understand people put 6 bikes on here when ordering the 6 hook model. But for us 4 bikes is great and we don’t have to move any other bikes to pull down the one we want. Our bikes are heavy and the rack is stable. It is not for kids though and the manual says that. It takes a little height and strength to lift the bike wheel up onto the hook. My 13 year old can unhook his 10 speed bike in a controlled manner with effort but cannot put it back up. CUSTOMER SERVICE AMAZING. I’ve never experienced better customer service. I emailed them about the missing pins at about 9PM. I had a response within 3 hours. I had the part shipped out the next day and it arrived a couple of days later. Overall I recommend this product and this company. ... show more

  • Hard to Assemble, But Worth the Effort
Once my husband was able to figure out to assemble this in our garage, it works great for our bikes down the shore. It needs 2 people to assemble.
