  • Keeping it real reviews.
Color: Black-10ftx8ft
First off, if you're honest with your expectations this is an excellent buy. It's a shed that shows up in your driveway in two boxes that weigh about the same as a casket. It costs around $400 for an 8x10 shed, so yeah it is thin sheet metal (somewhere between 32 and 30 gauge I'd say) First thing you need to is inspect the boxes. If they look like they have been thrown off a bridge, return them. If there are a few small scrapes, dings, you're probably fine. The last thing you want to do is get all the parts (there are many, many parts) unboxed in your yard and then have to repackage all of it because something is damaged. Secondly, inventory every single item. Lay it all out and make sure you physically see each part on the list. Plan for assembly to take a full day or two healthy half days if you do this by yourself. On that note, if this is the first thing you have built, you will have a tough time with this. Ask a friend who has experience doing manly things to help. No one part of this is super difficult, but it is alot of assembly, and the instructions are vague in a few areas. Study the pictures carefully. The diagram on the doors is by far the worst. In fact they are flat out misleading. Now to the plastic. Every panel is securely covered in this surane wrapish plastic. Remove it if you wish, but add an extra half day to your build. After peeling two panels, I decided to see what mother nature can do and started building. I'm convinced that alot of these bad reviews are due to people not knowing how to put something together properly. The one lady that left a video about the doors not staying closed. The kit comes with two latches for the top and bottom of the left door to keep what she posted from happening. It is clear that whoever put her shed together did not install the two latches. The doors on my kit lined up near perfect, and are secure. You just have to use a little care and common sense putting this thing together and I can't imagine any normal person not having their expectations exceeded. After fully assembled, it is quite a bit more robust than I expected for the price. Very satisfied with it. Last thing, the only additional tools you'll want is a decent handheld ratcheting screw driver. You can try a power drill(driver) if you want, but I found it more trouble than it was worth. These screws are all fairly short. Also, there is a fine line between a screw that is too loose, and one that strips the hole. A 6ft ladder will be handy for installing the roof panels. ... show more

  • Worst purchase on Amazon ever
This is by far the worst purchase I have ever bought on Amazon. I was sent 2 bent sheds. When I finally started putting it together it is missing pieces. Parts were bent, screws were missing. Parts were mislabeled so the entire time I had to put something together only to find out the part was mislabeled. They put all the screws of the majority of the screws in one package without labels leaving you to guess what screw was needed. The doors do not line up despite the shed being on a level surface. I had to go to Home Depot to buy multiple parts to make the simplest things work. The instructions are a joke and are poorly written and printed. The screws for the door hinges do not fasten. Despite trying to make this shed work it was by far the worst purchase on Amazon I have ever made. Do not purchase. ... show more

  • Not horrible but not good
Color: Black-10ftx8ft
Obviously the biggest problem is the doors don't fit there's a big gap. I didn't order this shed I ordered the one with the doors on the shorter side so the doors are facing my neighbors house instead of my driveway it is also pretty beat up from shipping and it causes leaks on the roof, I caulked the seams on the roof but the panels are bent just enough to not go together tightly, I find this odd because the wall panels overlap nicely and sit together lot better than the roof. I've put a lot of time into building this so I'm not gonna take it apart to return it. hopefully they can just send me the right doors but if not it will look trashy with 2x6s painted Grey to make the doors fit. Basically every negative review I just red is accurate but I still think it's a decent shed for the price, I didn't have any trouble assembling it or following instructions and the metal is so thin you can't just unbend most damage from shipping. ... show more

  • Interior dimensions, smaller than listed! But very sturdy
Color: A-Gray-10ftx8ft
It took me about 8 hours to assemble the shed working alone at a fairly leisurely pace. I do have mechanical experience and work in a construction related field. Part of that time was also spent doing a repair, see below. Having a power drill helps to screw things in faster and instructions were pretty clear for the most part, but did have to use some deductive reasoning and common sense here and there. A few times I had to remove some screws as I didn't realize other pieces were supposed to share bolt holes. Try to avoid doing this as much as possible because they are self tapping screws and will lose the ability to "bite" if screwed in and out too much because the holes get wider. I did have to repair one section as I assembled it over two days and did everything but the roof the first day. I should have gone another few steps as the next steps were the A panel roof sections that hold the cross beam above the doors tight. It was a little windy, enough to bend the front panels - this in turn bent and kinked the cross beam section and bracket (the metal piece above the sliding doors is two separate pieces attached with a thin piece of stamped steel and a few self tapping screws). I disassembled the area and ended up welding the crossbeam together and reassembled. This made it substantially stronger anyways so I don't mind. But if you decide to build it in sections over multiple days, for your own sake - go as far as the roof beam once all the walls are up. It would take another 15 minutes and save you the hassle of bending the door beam. I also had to drill out one single hole for the wall lower attachment at the center of the rear wall of the shed. Not a big deal, just used a small drillbit and one of the self tapping screws. I think the hole "was there" but the bracket holding the two lower sections together was covering it. I water tested it and found two major leak points: First is the floor, it leaks under the perimeter metal trims along the ground. I may end up caulking it depending on what I store in there. More likely, I'll end up not caring as most objects will be on shelves off the ground or in plastic tubs Second was the roof... Where the corrugated sheets overlap there is a gap. The exterior panels for the walls overlap by a full section - but the roof doesn't. If it had two more of the smaller roof panel sections included then you'd have enough to lay them over each other with enough overlap. I will be remediating this tomorrow by holding them tight in the overlapping position, drilling and using a self tapper screw with the waterproof washer. I had plenty of those left over. This will likely take all of 15 minutes. I'll use two at each panel, one upper and one lower section. The roof ridge is also not secured very well. I'll be adding some more screws to it along the middle. Overall the finished product is quite heavy and feels very sturdy. For the money it's hard to complain. I will be using concrete anchors bolts to secure it to my slab although given the weight not sure that's even necessary. My main gripe is the dimensions... I was hoping for about 10' x 8' of usable storage, and the pictures and description didn't make the actual size very clear. The actual interior dimensions are 9' 2" x 7' 4". I expect most these sheds are going to be a similar story - a 10' x 12' is probably ~ 9' x 11' interior but just wanted to note the actual dimesnsions for future buyers. Giving it a 5 because it has a few small things it needs fixed or improved but they are all very simple to do and it's very sturdy. I also doubt the ones are more expensive price points are actually any better as far as quality and ease of construction. $$$/sq footage it's a great value in my opinion. ... show more
