They fit great. The front hip pockets could be about an inch deeper but the overall design with its 3 zippered pockets, 2 in the rear and 1 in the front right thigh area and 1 velcro on the left thigh makes it easy to carry all things safely and securely that are important to men, including phone, money car keys and other essentials. The fabric is light weight, a bit stretchy and seems to repel anything that might cause nominal stains in other shorts. I've been ordering something closely resembling these cargo shorts from Walmart, Wrangler label, but these have those beat by 100%. Also the fabric on these new shorts don't seem to nick on things encountered on a normal hike in a more densely natural habitat. I first bought size 34 like I did with the Wrangler version but had to return that pair for a size 36. I received that pair and they fit perfectly, so I ordered 3 more pair in different colors, grey, tan and muted green. Since men don't carry purses like women these shorts keep up with our valuables safely and securely and don't resemble the cargo shorts of 10-20 years ago. I've taken the time to write this review because I know first hand how hard it is to find men's shorts that meet all the above expectations. Love+ These Shorts !! I have five pairs of these shorts. I wear them every day. These shorts are as close to perfect as a pair of shorts gets. They fit perfectly. They're stretchy but they don't look stretchy. They are cargo shorts but they don't look like cargo shorts. They look great. And I love the pockets - there are two basic front 'put your hands or whatever' in them. The back pockets zip so your wallet is secure. The front left cargo pocket is perfect for a phone - size is just right it has a velcro'd flap that makes it easy to access a phone. The front right cargo pocket has a zipper - to keep things secure - I keep my car key fob in there. I cannot say enough good stuff about these shorts - I really wish they would make a long pants version - exactly the same - just long legs. Love these shorts! ... show more

Excellent shorts. I own a few pairs of Kuhl shorts that are $70/pair. These are every bit as quality product at 1/3 the price. I got a 34x10 and fits great. Front pockets have a mesh net inside so no keys will go there, but the other pockets are lined and have zippers. Nothing fancy but perfect for hiking, golf, or fishing. Wear a 33 inch waist normally so went with the gray size 34 inch, just a tad loose but better than tight. Not falling off though. I prefer shorts to fall near knee, I'm 5'11" and 10" inseam length hit just right. ... show more

Ordered the bone color..Very thin. Wear a color underwear you are comfortable with people noticing. The pocket shape is a little awkward. I don't like the elastic waist but that is a personal thing.
