I bought this to replace the old hitch-mounted winch on my 6x6, so I had to do a little retrofitting. I first tested it with the included pieces, wiring things directly to a battery - no issues and easy to understand both the assembly and wiring from the instructions. The mounting plate did not fit my application, which is no fault of the purchase. I cut the old winch off of the old mounting plate, and welded the new one in place, the painted the welds. Quick and easy, and everything slipped into place from there. Connecting to the existing wiring on the 6x6 was also easy, and the old remote (hard wired) worked fine to run the winch from inside the vehicle. Looking forward to it getting some use this year.

Winch seems well built. Remote does not work. Not sure if batteries are dead. Wiring is a horrible design. The control box has a red wire and black wire that are roughly 6-7 foot. There is a blue wire and a yellow wire that is approximately one foot. The design is to have the control box mount close to the winch then you would have to find a way to secure it under the vehicle. You are supposed to connect the hello and blue to the winch then run your black and red to the battery. The control box should be close to the battery for dry storage in the battery box. There are no instructions on wiring either. The included switch has about 18 inches of wire so if you have a side by side you might have enough wire to connect the in and out switch to the control box. So I had to turn all the wiring around to make this work. This being said the winch does work. I would not buy another one.

First off I’ll start by saying I highly doubt this can handle 3500lbs, it struggles pulling my camper, something me and my wife was able to push, into my garage. Second the wires on the box were labeled backwards, the power cables said it was for the motor and the motor cables said they were for the power. Luckily I’m and engineer and noticed the length of the cables didn’t make sense, noticed the directions shown it opposite (which was correct) and then I disassembled the box to verify. With them at being said it is also more expensive than a very similar Walmart version… so if I had not gone through all the work to install it already I would of replaced it. But at last it does work for what I’m doing.

Works as advertised, but don’t use the wireless remote. It works, (I use it to raise/lower my snowplow on my 4wheeler) but don’t use it unless you have a way to mount it on you machine. The winch comes with a wired in/out switch that has a clamp for mounting it on the handlebars which is a far better setup.

I bought this to use as a crane to set my trusses for my pole barn. The wireless remote was the selling point for me. I rigged a dewalt 20v battery as a power source and I was able to lift all my 24' trusses with ease.
