Description

Stiebel Eltron 239223 Tankless Water Heater – Tempra 29 Plus – Electric, On Demand Hot Water, Eco, White, 23 "The Stiebel Eltron Tempra 29 Plus Tankless Water Heater features exclusive Advanced Flow Control German patented technology invented by Stiebel Eltron to automatically maintain water temperature for constant comfort. It’ll reduce flow slightly if hot water demand exceeds capacity to ensure that hot showers will never be interrupted. Tempra 29 Plus will typically use 15-20% less energy compared to conventional electric tank water heaters. Although, it’s possible to save significantly more energy depending on personal home usage habits. The difference is that conventional tank water heaters continually store hot water, and as a result, lose 15%-20% of the total energy consumed to the environment around them. This is called standby heat loss. Tank water heaters that use gas or oil are even less efficient, because they also lose heat through their vents to the outdoors. Our tankless water heaters do not need venting, and will not store hot water, waiting for you to use it. They operate on-demand to provide continuous and endless hot water when you need it, and not waste energy when you don’t. CERTIFICATIONS INCLUDE - ANSI/UL Std. 499, CSA Std. C22.2 No. 88, ISO 9001, WQA tested & certified against NSF/ANSI 372 for lead free compliance. SIEMENS Q240 40-Amp Double Pole Type QP Circuit Breaker black Siemens plug in circuit breakers are intended for use in Siemens EQ, Siemens Ultimate, ITE, and Gould load centers or meter combinations. The double pole Siemens breakers may be used in 1 or 3-phase load centers and are 240V rated. To ensure the warranty on a Siemens panel is not voided, the use of Siemens breakers is required. Siemens offers a wide array of thermal- magnetic circuit breakers that are the key element for overload and short- circuit protection of your home's electrical system. To provide additional protection Siemens offers circuit breakers to protect against severe electrical shock or electrocution, mitigate the risk of electrical fires and protect against damaging surges and Voltage spikes. Circuit breakers are intended for switching and protection of your home's wiring from high temperatures caused by excess current higher than the rating of the wire. While thermal-magnetic circuit breakers are the key element for overload and short-circuit protection of your electrical system, there are potentially dangerous conditions that do not involve over current. the use of Siemens breakers is required. Siemens strongly recommends against the use of "used" breakers. Siemens does not sell used breakers and has not approved any 3rd party sellers to do so.

  • Nice tankless heater
Style: Tempra 36 Plus (36 kW) Pattern Name: Water Heater
We recently installed this tankless heater at my mother's house and it is replacing the exact same model that was installed almost 14 years ago. The new unit works well and is adequate to supply her 4 bathrooms at the same time. Installation is easy if you know basic electric and plumbing and already have 3 legs of 50 amp power running to the unit. We had a small issue with the temp adjustment knob but a quick call to their tech support and they provided me with some suggestions that ultimately resolved the issue. So far we are happy with the device and hope to get many years out of it. This is a well established company with a good quality product. ... show more

  • Efficient - Easy Install
Style: Tempra 24 Plus (24 kW) Pattern Name: Water Heater
Installed June 2022 INSTALL NOTE - I am not a plumber and this stretched my mechanical DIY-er mentality, but I did install this on my own: be careful if you choose to install this on your own. I chose NOT to do the electrical upgrade required on my own - the risk of not getting that right was too high, so I paid my electrical contractor to upgrade the box for the 3 x 50 amp breakers - NO REGRETS! I knew my 55 gal standard electric water heater was not going to last much longer due to the units age AND the fact our local city water is awful with calcium and build up. I researched the available setups and units ad nauseum, and went with this unit: the brand recognition and reputation, the size due to our house and expectation that we will eventually sell it. When I bought this unit, it was one of the larger of its type and was actually cheaper than if I went with a standard water heater to match the one I was getting rid of. First, the drop in electric usage has about paid for 50% of the unit cost over the last year - yeah, THAT MUCH! Results will vary I am sure, but its just my wife and I in 2200 sq ft house, so the fact it runs "on demand" just makes sense. Another way to measure savings: I am all electric in this house and during extreme seasonal weather I could easily see a monthly electric bill $250-300, using either my heat pump or my additional heat source in the house. I have yet to see a monthly bill above $180 (Ohio weather from summer 90s down into the single digits in the winter). The temp control is amazingly simply - we found 115 works fine and can take a long hot shower. But I can walk out and dial it up or down if I chose. The install (outside of the electric) was not too bad. I have PEX plumbing in my house, so it was a no-brainer to use that with the majority of this project. I spent the money to buy heavy brass shot off valves (probably overkill) for the IN/OUT inlets on this unit. It will make a difference if I ever have to repair or replace the unit: I can easily isolate the unit from the flow of water. Assuming we will move in the future, I will be looking for a house that either has a tankless or can be upgraded to tankless: its a great decision and works amazing. ... show more

  • Small and wonderful
Style: Tempra 29 Plus (29 kW) Pattern Name: Water Heater
This will be my 3rd Tankless water heater. All have been OK to wonderful. This unit is the best. It was easy to install the Hardware has had major improvements, and its interface is way faster than just 14 years ago. In 2007 i bought the Tempra 24 This unit gave me 9 years of hot water in a room 1.5 bath house. Till a major storm killed it and every appliance in my house. I replaced it with the Ecosmart 27 and that unit works till this very day. I sold that house last year an i have been missing the unlimited hot water ever since. I now own a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house built in 1905. Its been a remolding money pit, but the water heater was just fine. 50 gal electric. well last week i changed it. It took 300ft of Romex 8-2, 3 40 amp breakers, 8' red 1/2pex and 8'blue 1/2 pex with many fittings and a filters to protect the unit for lime and rust. In the time it has had a round the clock test of 110f to 120f and tested up to 140f yes it does that just fine if you like burns... the real testing is having kids and family getting real usage out of it. having a person in the both showers and washing close at the same time. Yet never running out of water. The controls tell you how much power you have used the tem of the out flow and how much you saved over a tanked unit. With 98% efficacy and not heating water 24/7 i love the cost savings. The only cons is the need for a min power inlet of 200 amps. I have a LARGE house that has had the electrical upgraded. It has 2 400Amp boxes and meters. so i had room in the power panel for 3X 40amp breakers. The other this is the inspection if you live in a city that requires it for fixture replacement my city dose not as long as an electrician signs off on it. The problem is mast old houses in the south only have 100amp service so check with the pro fist. good luck and IM going to take a 1 hours shower.. lol. ... show more
