The tower is made of particle board wrapped in cheap fuzzy fabric that easily falls apart with fuz everywhere. The top platform is so small that my small cat barely fits. Then the tube is maybe 5 inches long and the bolt that goes in it is way too short to secure. I had to get a bolt of my own to put it on. I have a feelng this tower won't last long. I can't wait to toss it in the trash. I'm so disappointed.

The important part of the review for cat owners - the carpet is thin, especially on the house part. Kittens, multiple cats, or energetic/rambunctious cats are going to decimate this cat tree very fast. Be sure to tighten everything very well or it's going to be shaky. From far away, it looks like any other cat tree. Up close, it has some problems. First, the instructions are terrible. It took me an hour to assemble, because some part of the instructions are hard to see and I swore I was missing parts. This cat tree is not overly complicated, but the way the little house is attached to the base is what took up most of my time. It has brackets that hold it to the base, but the instructions for the brackets was so tiny that I couldn't make out how to attach the brackets. Additionally, there are screws that hold the brackets in, and they stick up in the house. (Unless I assembled this part wrong, considering how small the diagram is.) I fear that any active cats playing in the house could get hurt on the screws. A pic is attached of that. The house part has very thin carpet. As stated, any active cats are going to shred *especially* this piece, this tree very fast. The same thin carpet is used all around the tree. Moving up the cat tree, to the level with the 'bowl' bed and the toy sticking up, the holes to attach this piece to the 3 poles was not cut all the way thru. I had to open up the holes myself. There are some other minor aspects, such as the sisal not being woven all the way down the pole and leaving bare cardboard at the bottom, that takes away from the overall value/quality of this tree. So I would order with caution, and consider the type of cat you have. If you have a single older cat like I do, this tree may be a good choice. But I'd definitely reconsider if you have crazy little kitties.

I have assembled many cat trees in my day and I have many issue with this cat tree. 1. This is not made for full size cats. The space between levels is so condensed, my cat would have a hard time laying down much less standing up. If one of my cats actually makes it to the top bed, I am pretty sure the whole thing will tip. For tiny kittens only, that should be in the title. 2. The instructions are lacking. If you stare at the illustrations for an hour you may catch every little thing you need to see, trouble is, you usually don't understand the part you need to until it's too late. My advice to those who assemble this thing: think 2 steps ahead. The instructions are very unclear as to what side needs to go up or down or whatever. Figuring this out dictates where a screw hole is - so if you loosely put it together ahead of time, you will hopefully avoid all the do-overs that I did. 3. It's just not that cat friendly. It's mainly made of laminated pressed wood so its very slippery. So not only will my 3 cats not fit on it, they will slide right off. Also, out of the 11 poles used, only one is sisal rope. The rest is faux fur which is going to shed all over if they ever decide they want to use this thing. 4. Cushions are included but there is nothing to hold them down, so they will slide around on the slippery laminated wood. 5. The plastic bowls have drill holes in them, but nothing to attach to nor do the instructions mention anything. Did they forget? I am bummed. I don't think they are going to use this. I can usually tell their interest by how much they interrupt my assembly time. They weren't even interested in watching me with this.

This cat tree takes a bit of time to assemble. I recommend just watching the assembly video on the product site rather than trying to follow the tiny instructions. The large wooden cat tree is very solid and sturdy, but the perches are not so big. I placed the tree up against the wall between a couch and a tall bookcase. All my cats checked it out but no one would go to the top perch with the condo. I physically placed a few cats up there and realized that the area outside the condo doesn’t seem big enough for them to jump & land on, and the doorway for the birdhouse condo is small. I removed the birdhouse from the top perch & then everyone started jumping on it. They went up & down the cat tree and used the top perch as a way to get on top of the bookcase. Now they can actually sit on the top perch and swat at the hanging toys from the adjacent post. I think the birdhouse design might appeal to kittens or smaller cats, but mine seem to prefer the flat platform. The plastic bubble dome is really fun for a few of my cats that love to be squished in hammocks. The cardboard circle scratcher is the biggest hit of all for my 2 cardboard fanatic cats. They cannot get enough of it, and one will scratch & then sleep on it so the other one can’t use it. Hilarious. The birdhouse condo will not go unused since I do a lot of DIY projects. At the moment, however, it is sitting on the floor and my smallest cat enjoys sleeping inside the birdhouse just as is.
