Purchased as a gift for my 8 year old nephew and was a little worried that the age range of 8-12 might not be accurate (that at 8 it might have been too difficult for him) but his mom said he really enjoyed putting it together and playing with it! Instructions were easy to follow and seemed to be of very good quality! Definitely fun for kids who enjoy STEM and great value for the money!

This thing is rad, for the price I mean. It’s kinda small (but still great for a kid!) and doesn’t exactly give you spare pieces. BUT the instructions are pretty great (have some iffy parts but I maybe missed something) and the end product is a pretty cool little robot guy. And we all love a cool little guy. (Not to mention very bionicle friendly!)

Cool idea for sure, but YIKES there's a lot of instructions, it's not even a sheet or two, it's a whole BOOK of steps to get the thing together. Older kids who are into robotics will probably like it, but younger kids might struggle with it and honestly it wouldn't be hard to lose or break some of this stuff. I think the end product isn't that fun, either, it was more fun to put it together than it was to play with the actual thing that we built. Better for learning than playing. There's a lot of really unique pieces in here that'll be fun in future mixed-part builds, so I think even if the actual thing you're "supposed" to make isn't that great, there's a lot you can do by repurposing all these really solid pieces. Just try not to break them, there's a lot of pieces in here that are pretty rugged but not everything. Use the tool!!
