  • Great
Color: black
Mouse is great but when I open the box and got the batteries out, one of them looked like it had busted. No big deal because we keep rechargeable batteries on hand just because of our kids using them with the Xbox controllers so much. Still 5 stars for price and works great

  • Great hi-fidelity mouse for the price
Color: black
BLUF: for the simple fact that this mouse works as well as much more expensive mice on the market, you're definitely getting a deal (I bought mine for a little under $20) I've been using this mouse for everything, from daily navigation in the Windows OS to playing video games that require accuracy and precision. All pass with flying colors. Good construction, sturdy and weighty feel to it. Works on multiple types of surfaces. Buttons have a short and "clicky" draw, and a high-DPI that works well with high-refresh monitors. Like many other performance mice, the DPI can be changed on the fly with a small and easily accessible button on top of the mouse, just behind the scroll wheel. Not too small as to make it feel like you're tickling a small rodent while using it, but compact enough to fit securely in the smaller pockets of a backpack or briefcase. I also appreciate the connectivity options; I can either use it with the micro-USB dongle provided or, in the alternative, tie directly through Bluetooth if I'm running short on USB-A ports. No external ports, so there is no hardwiring or recharging option tied to the computer, but I have a strong preference for wireless mice anyway. With Bluetooth, it also means I can use the mouse in cross-platform situations (eg. having mouse support for an Android tablet). The mouse uses standard AAA batteries (x2), and supports rechargeable AAA batteries as well. This greatly extends the power lifespan of the mouse. If I ever find myself with dead batteries, I can easily replace them with my stock on hand, or remedy this by going to just about any convenience store out there. In theory, this mouse can last quite a while since it isn't powered by a rechargeable and non-removeable li-ion battery, which would eventually lose its ability to keep an optimal charge. The scroll wheel has RGB lighting effects running the length of the wheel, and with the additional utility software (doesn't come included, needs to be downloaded for free from Steelseries' website) you can change the colors and behavior of the glow while in use. I myself am not overly concerned about making my mouse akin to a disco ball -- but hey, you do you. I'm perfectly happy using it with the stock settings applied. All things considered, I'm definitely happy with my purchase. If you're in the market for a new mouse, or simply want to keep one as a spare, you can't go wrong with this one. Cheers! ... show more

  • cheap, but ...
Color: Grey
lasted two years, scroll wheel is shot; it won't middle click nor scroll right. and the 400 hour deal is a joke, maybe 400 hours at the lowest dpi setting idling but it's not going to last all year unless you use your computer for only an hour a day on average. but for 28-35$ it's pretty decent, i've had mice that cost far more and lasted just as long but i'm going to knock a star cause the scroll wheel sucked something into it and i couldn't clean it out without the skates on it; and because companies don't seem to care if they make e-waste or not with their designs. i know it's cheap but, as of 2019, approximately 50% of american workers earned less than $35,000 per year and these cattle tactics need to end. ... show more

  • Multiple mechanical failures within 2 years
Color: Grey
This is hands down the most disappointing and frustrating piece of crap I have ever bought for my computer. Purchased mine Oct 2021, and here in Jul 2023 it has already completely failed, mousewheel click and a thumb button no longer work, as well as the on/off switch needing to be repeatedly be flicked on and off to turn on the mouse on occasional days. This mouse started off as a pain in the ass from the start, as without installing the software to control settings on the mouse, it DEVOURS batteries at a rate of needing to swap them out every other week if not more, and that is with turning the mouse off at the end of every day, under moderate/high use. Nowhere in the same universe as the advertised YEAR LONG LIFE. Even after installing its control software, turning off most of the obnoxious lighting features and setting the polling rate to minimum, it still goes through a set of AAA batteries (or rechargeables) on average once a month. Coming from my old mouse being a logi m510, to which survived over 5 years before having 1 thumb button fail, all while being treated like hell, thrown into a backpack with a laptop at college, while this steelseries mouse sits on a desktop for a year and a half before failing totally. That old mouse had actual year+ long battery life, I cannot for the life of me remember needing to change its batteries more than 3 times in 5+ years of owning it. Hell, even if you want to fix a mechanical switch on this mouse, it requires you to remove the glide pads under it, which are akin to plastic stickers, and will NEVER go back into place as new once removed. If you want a high maintenance mouse that devours batteries, which will mechanically fail on you within 2 years, that costs more than the most budget 20-30 dollar wireless mice, get one of these. ... show more

  • The battery is a complete lie.
Color: black
A year of battery life? complete lie or a joke, expect a week maybe 2 weeks of double AAA battery life, if you use cheap dollar store battery its even less battery life. i use rechargeable AAA amazon basic battery, so i just rotate them when battery run out, its not a big deal for me, cost me almost nothing to recharge those AAA. but if you are buying battery to use this mouse, DO NOT DO IT, it drains your battery very fast. The mouse itself is good, i didn't notice any hiccup, its smooth and adjustable with steelseires' own software. i give it 3 star for the fake battery life, otherwise i would give it 4 stars. ... show more
