I’m on the fence to give this four or five stars, because it’s such a hassle to get the settings and interface running how I want it. I’m not the most tech savvy man in the world but I feel like I’m well above average with technology, and I still had some frustrations with how to operate this head set with its multiple cords, plugins, blue tooth, etc. other than the slight frustrations of connecting, the sound quality is great, the noise canceling is great, they look great, and they make music as well as games pretty great. Overall this headset is great. The battery is insane. I’ve had them for 3 weeks and charged them twice. Lastly, they are slightly heavier with a tighter band than I was expecting, and I have a big head. ... show more

    • After many attempts, I finally have a pair of headphones I love!

I purchased these headphones a couple months ago and I waited to give the review till now so that I could thoroughly test them and give an accurate review. I love them. When gaming, my friends have said that my voice is coming through much more clearly and with less fuzz and background noise. There is a mute button for turning the mic off at your convenience. The over ear design with the adjustable strap is very comfortable and I don't have any pain on my ears after a long session of gaming which is something I always look for in a pair of gaming headphones. Other headphones that sit directly on the ear are only good for me for about an hour before it hurts my ears. The padding is also very soft and sits gently on your head without a lot of pressure. I've been described as too rough on my stuff but I haven't broken these headphones so I can say that while flexible, they are quite durable. The adjustable strap helps to prevent over extension of the frame and too much bending. I like that the mic is retractable but I would have preferred it was detachable. I don't view this as a design flaw so much as a personal preference though so I don't think that should factor into the score. If I could change one thing, I would either remove, or change the design of the dial that adjust your chat to game audio ratio. They are parallel to each other and I often confuse them for one another. If they would make one of them adjust smoothly while the other clicks as it adjust, it would be a difference enough to help remember which is which. Or if they didn't make them perfectly parallel to each other so it would be harder to confuse them. Many times I have tried to turn my audio down just to find out that I turned the mic chat up. If your looking for a pair of headphones to listen to music with, these have great sound quality but there are probably better options for you in the same price range. If you're looking for a pair of gaming headphones, then look no further, cause once you buy these, you'll be a life long steel series customer! I've purchased 3 different headsets this last year, ranging from 80 dollars to 230 dollars, and i can tell you with confidence that a high price tag doesn't always mean your getting a good product. But with this headset you don't have to worry, they are worth every penny! Second Edit: It has now completely ceased to function in any way, shape, or form. Never buying anything from this worthless company again, this was an absolute waste of time and money. Avoid this terrible, garbage, worthless, piece of junk, you would be better off using a $10 headset from walmart that at least functions. Edit: In addition to the below issues, a few weeks in it now randomly disconnects constantly whether on bluetooth or dongle connection. Will literally be mid-sentence on a call or in the middle of a show/game and it just cuts out and has to be powered back on. Borderline unusable garbage. Sound is not appreciably better than a $30 headset. I should have gotten a $30 headset probably, this thing didn't really add much value for the 6x price tag. The amount of buttons on this thing really feels like someone thought of a lot of cool things that they could add without thinking if they should - it's very easy to bump one of the half dozen dials and buttons while doing things and have to take it off to see what happened. The microphone is OK, but it's tucked away a bit and kind of annoying to pull out. It feels durable and has good range to it, I can talk on it from halfway across a decent sized house. It auto-installs the SteelSeries manager thing where you have to either uninstall that or deal with a bunch of keyboard commands that you have to hunt down to individually disable if you don't want your headset to record clips and things like that - if you were wanting to record clips, I feel like a headset is not the best way to get that functionality (hence, "should this be part of the headset?". It also is pretty buggy when trying to simply connect to the same computer - half the time it works just fine, half the time you have to play with the bluetooth button, the power button, and the dongle for 5 minutes to get it to work. Battery life is not 50+ hours; I've had a weekend or two with it on most of the day Saturday/Sunday and it'll flash red and stop working Sunday if I use it for 10ish hours Saturday and 4-5 hours Sunday. Excellent headset! It’s comfortable, is easily adjustable on the head, and DOESN’T CREAK like Turtle Beach Stealth 600/700 Gen 1s and 2s!! The ear cushions are very comfortable and, given the size of the headset, you’d think its sound quality wouldn’t compare to other $150 or so headsets—you’d be right because it’s BETTER. The mic extends out and is VERY easy to adjust depending on where the headset itself rests on your head! The Arctis app that pairs with the headset has TONS of different audio presets too which, honestly, should make this headset more than it is. It’s easily customizable and understandable, too. My ONLY issue is that the mic monitoring, “sidetone,” isn’t static in-app—it will raise or lower if you adjust your overall main volume dial on the left. This isn’t a huge deal though—just adjust your PlayStation/PC volume settings accordingly if you feel it’s too high/low. This is an 11/10 headset well worth the money! Drop the headset by accident? You’re in luck because this thing is HARD to damage! I’ve used Turtle Beaches for 14/15 years. THIS headset outcompetes every TB headset—yes, even the new Stealth 700 Gen 3—but probably only by about 5-10 percentage points on a 0-100 scale, 0 being the worst, garbage headset ever and 100 being top-of-the-line: TBs range about 80-85; the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 is an easy 86-95 in my opinion. The BEST feature, though, has to be the QUIET dial tones and fast connectivity! The TB Stealth 6/700 dial tones are ANNOYINGLY LOUD and pairing/connecting takes like 30-60 seconds. The Arctis Nova 7 takes literally like 5 seconds to connect once you turn it on. It takes me LONGER to put the headset ON than it takes to connect! GGs, SteelSeries—you have a new fan! ... show more

Either my pair are defective or this is seriously just an awful product. The microphone is abnormally quiet and when I speak there's feedback. The ear cuffs are generally just terrible. It's difficult to describe, but I can hear myself breathing (even quietly through my nose.) If my muscles around my ears are tense, I can hear it. It never feels all that comfortable on my head. Sounds come through fairly easily as well. The software that pairs with it is full of bloatware, including software that will record your screen and audio for "replays." This feature is on by default. The actual functionality of it to adjust audio levels is... fine? I guess? The sound isn't terribly impressive in the first place, so tweaking to have more bass or treble isn't really going to pay off in any major way, but I'm not an audiophile. I have to charge the headset every two days or so, and it usually charges in an hour, so that's not an issue, but I've also updated my OS several times and have had issues getting it to reconnect & function at all. Overall, these are better than Razor, but any savvy gamer knows Razer products are garbage. These at least still work after months of daily use which is why it gets any stars at all. It's got great audio and a solid mic on it, but I feel that compared to older models, for example, my old Arctis 7s, were built feeling solid, durable, with a nice metal head bar, and big ear muffs to where your whole ear could fit inside them and not get smushed in, and after a while start making your ears or head hurt. Still a solid choice in headphones that I'd recommend. I personally just wish I could have my old Arctis 7s but an "updated version" of them because those were the comfiest, most perfect-fitting headphones ever. ... show more
