These look good in the factory pic and in reality they are surprisingly lightweight. That’s the extent of the pluses for me. I went to lace them and thought that for all those plastic ridges to fold down nicely like in the factory pic, a lot of work and thought has to be put into lacing pattern. Without wanting to do this and by just crisscrossing the laces, those plastic ridges stick up and it just doesn’t look good. As far as finding that solution for the laces to fold the ridges, I have to wonder how difficult it would become to slacken the laces. I decided that I don’t want to spend the time to engineer this, and went with different units. As I tried them in, I didn’t feel any particular problem with stepping in these. They seem like those ridges are essential in rigidizing these.

I remember when working of government job steel toe shoes where in the hundred dollar range. Now i'm looking at composite and steel toe shoes and they are great price for what you get. These are really comfortable and size seemed right for what I ordered and they are so light I don't know I'm wearing steel toe shoes. Good bang for the buck, not sure on their wear and tear aspect since I wear them mostly as almost a dress shoe and haven't put them to war in a hard work environment like sheet-rocking or something that use to tear my shoes up.
