  • Saved my daughter's life
Size: 30 - 50 lbs
I was unsure if I really wanted to get this. We live in a studio apartment with no access to water and go to the beach maybe twice in the summer. Most of the time it's once. So I really was unsure about spending $42 on something my daughter would maybe use once. Plus, I never wore a life jacket on the beach so did she really need it? However, given that my daughter is around water once a year and I haven't gotten her swimming lessons yet (I'm hoping to), I sucked up the money and bought this. Best decision I could have made. I am SO grateful I bought this life vest. I went to Point Pleasant Beach in NJ today with my 3 year old daughter and my friend. The tide was coming in, the waves were rough, and we were standing at the edge of where the water reached (up to ankle deep on my daughter). I was holding my daughter by the handle on top of her life jacket, my friend held her hand. Out of nowhere, a six foot wave crashed four feet from us. The wave was powerful, the water was fast, and my daughter was immediately submerged in 4 feet of rough water. My daughter's hand was ripped from my friend's grip but I had a tight hold on the handle and immediately jerked the handle up. My daughter's head came out of the water within 5 seconds. The bouyancy of the life vest also helped keep her up. The water was still rushing so my friend grabbed my daughter's hand again and helped hold her up even higher. I had just started to process what happened when the undertow came, ripped my daughter out of my friend's hand again, and yanked me forward. I still had my grip on the handle and held with all my might (this time with 2 hands) as my daughter was being dragged feet first towards the sea. I kept a hold on her and eventually we were back out of the water. We immediately went up to the dry sand and checked her over. She was fine and mostly oblivious to the danger (mildly upset that sand was in her eyes). Two 20 year old men that had been next to us (they were standing where the wave broke) literally crawled out of the water coughing about a minute later. One said to us, "That undertow was the worst I've ever been in. I thought I was going to drown. Thank God your kid didn't get caught in it." They left the beach still coughing. I am SO thankful I bought this. Best money I ever spent. I still have my daughter. If I never use it again, it was worth it. If your child can't swim, please buy this and have them where it until they learn how to swim. ... show more

  • Worked great! Must be comfy too!
Size: 30 - 50 lbs
I was nervous putting my toddler (<2.5yr) in a life jacket for a full day of boating with friends for the first time. I didn’t think he would let me put it on, let alone keep it on all day. I ordered this a week in advance and just put it near his toys so he could see it. I then put on a Blippi boating episode on YouTube and he talks about life jackets and the importance. He is my sons idol. So my son instantly points to his green life jacket on the floor and said, “my life jacket!” A couple days of this slow introduction, and a conversation that morning as we were leaving to go boating, and he said he understood he would have to wear it. Thank goodness it must be the most comfortable life jacket ever because he kept it on whenever we were on the boat! It was easy to buckle and adjust. It fit him great (33lb). He did prefer the head support piece flipped up vs down though. He even got a nap in on my lap reclined in my arms wearing it. ... show more

  • Recommended for those tiny swimmers
Size: 30 - 50 lbs
We have tried multiple floatation devices for our two year old without any luck. He always want s to turn and go face first in the water. Well this was the winner until we can get him in lessons as it keeps his face up and out of the water and makes mom feel so much better. Granted I still swim WITH him, with a hand on him at all times, but if need be in emergency, I know with this life jacket I would be safe to let go briefly! ... show more

  • Love it
Size: Under 30 lbs
Looked up many life jackets before deciding on these for our little boys. Not sure why it's so hard to find one in this weight range with the pillow behind the head (face up feature). Everything about it is perfect. Bright color so easy to spot in an emergency. Lift handle. Crotch strap. 2 waist buckles. Pillow incase child became too exhausted to keep head up in emergency. Only con is the price. I feel it's pretty expensive. ... show more

  • WORKS
Size: 30 - 50 lbs
We really like this. It fits nicely with the adjustable straps. It makes it impossible for my son to accidentally flip face down.

  • Great for young kids
Size: 30 - 50 lbs
Have two of these for my grandchildren - well made and while I'm not a fan of neon green - it makes sense if you ever have a child go overboard that you would want a color that was easy to see.
