  • Am I allowed to call this thing "fun"?
Not sure how I got by without one of these things before. Now I'm hooked. Are they all this good? I've used steam irons all my life, and still dislike them and avoid them. As you know, if you don't get the fabric *just right* before you iron it, you will actually *add* wrinkles to it, not remove them. And that's not even mentioning the whole hassle of dealing with an ironing board. This is the antithesis of ironing. What a great gadget! You fill it with water, and in just 30 seconds, it's ready with torrents of steam, which it emits with a satisfying jet-engine-like "whoosh." A little "Ready" light switches from red to green, and you're ready to go. Then you hold the thing like a phaser, click the trigger, and steam away. I'd thought you'd have to keep the trigger depressed, but I was wrong. It's really a binary on/off switch, which is smarter, because you'd grow super tired if you had to keep a trigger pulled the whole time you use this. The gadget is heavy and solid and well-built and feels like a professional unit. This is why I gave it just two stars for "traveling"; this is a keep-at-home device. It took me a while to get the hang of it: There's an optimum combination of speed and distance and stroke length vs. the thickness and wrinkly-ness of the fabric. If you're a guy, it's kind of like shaving: finding that optimum stroke, speed, and pressure. But once you figure it out, wow! It gives you quite a feeling of magical power to just approach some wrinkled shirt or slacks and bam! the wrinkles just vanish. The hardest part, for me, was simply finding an eye-level place to hang the garments I wanted to steam, since my initial "hanger"—a doorknob—forced me to bend down too low. Once I found a better/higher perch, it was much easier. The gadget is well-balanced, so it's pretty easy to keep at it for a while without tiring, and the reservoir holds about ten minutes' worth of steam before you need to refill it. As I've said, I've never owned, or even used, a fabric steamer before, so I don't know if they're all this good, but boy this one is good! ... show more

  • Easy to Use
This is great for travel. It's easy to use and fits in a carry on. If you travel for work, this is great to get those wrinkles out for work.

  • Works
This works very well for me. It steams well and doesn’t leak. This is my first steamer and I am pleased. Will order again when needed.

  • Quick Heat with Lingering Odor
The Steamfast VIRTUOSO Handheld Garment Steamer has certainly impressed me with its rapid heating capabilities. Within moments, it's ready to tackle wrinkles, making it a time-efficient addition to my daily routine. The compact design is also a plus, making it easy to handle and store. However, there's a drawback that I can't overlook – a persistent, funny odor that lingers even after two tanks of water have been used. Despite the efficient steaming process, the aroma can be a bit off-putting. I had hoped it would dissipate with use, but the odor remains. While the steamer does its job well, the lingering scent is the reason for the deduction of a star. If the manufacturer could address this issue, it would be a top-notch garment steamer. ... show more

  • This Steamer Has a Lot of Thoughtful Features
I really like this steamer. It is practical and convenient. These are the features I especially appreciate: 1. It has an on/off switch. This is very helpful when you use the steamer frequently. It's so much more convenient to turn it off between use instead of having to unplug it every time. 2. It has a broad base which makes it easy to keep within reach - just set it on a counter and it's handy to grab and use. 3. The water tank is a larger size than most - easy to fill, and it puts out a lot of steam with one fill. 4. There is also an on/off button for steam - no need to hold down a trigger for steam. Plus, you can stop or start steam while using, which helps the steam last longer. 5. It has an auto-off feature, so that if you forget, it turns itself off after after 20 minutes, which will extend it's life. 6. It heats up SO QUICKLY! Turn it on, and it is ready to steam in 30 seconds! 7. It has an indicator light to let you know when it's ready to steam - a red light indicates it is heating and a green light lets you know it's ready to steam. It heats up so quick! 8. The steam flows evenly from the outlet holes, without spitting. This is the best steamer I have ever used. I finally got rid of my others because this one is so much better. Perfect for my business selling vintage clothing - it's a excellent tool to make the items look fresh and neat. This will be an invaluable tool! ... show more

  • It works great, but it can get too hot to handle
This is my first steamer. I was eager to use it to remove some deep creases from a suit jacket. After reading the unhelpful translated directions I filled the water tank and gave it a go. There is deffinately a learning curve, but not too hard. My coat was dropping wrinkles before my eyes. For light wrinkles this machine will be perfect, but for lots of deep ones, it takes a long time. The machine gets too hot to hold. Just turn it off and return after it's cool, it is only a few minutes. My jacket is wrinkle free and I love my new tool! Long cord, easy to hold and use, water tank doesn't drip. Heats up fast and is small to store. ... show more

  • Great little steamer.
This compact steamer is great from small jobs or touch up on my clothing that I usually dry clean. Having this tool at my disposal helps me keep my clothes clean and neat. I also use it to detail my car especially the carpet. It does a great job at lifting dirt and then I use a vacuum to suck it out. ... show more

  • I'm steaming mad!
Steaming mad I didn't find out about this thing sooner! It takes what is frankly a non-enjoyable experience and not only makes it easy and better than traditional ironing, it also makes it FUN! When I told my wife I got this steamer she kept telling me "Where! Where! I want a steamer!" so we can tell I made the right choice getting this! It's very easy and convenient to use. I've heard comments that it can get hot... Which makes sense, nothing we personally ran into, but a steamer will probably get hot... ... show more
