I'm using this mat under an inverter generator being run on a tile patio. It helps a lot with vibration and noise, and protects the tile. Not what most people will use this for, but highly recommended if you have a similar situation.

I got a new-to-me serger that is much more powerful than the old one I’d borrowed, and it was making my little Ott lamp, scissors and anything else that wasn’t as heavy as my sewing machine jump around on my sewing table. This mat helps a little with the vibration - nothing has vibrated off the table like before - but I think the folding table from Costco will just have to be replaced with a more solid sewing surface. This mat excels more at noise reduction and keeping the serger stationary if it wants to wander. I did notice that the roar from the serger was probably cut in half with the mat under it. I have a trim-catcher on the table (it has a thinner foam pad on the bottom) and then this mat on top of it, so the serger sits on this one. Your results might vary if you are using it directly between the table and the serger.

Loved the 15 x 18 so much, I bought a 17 x 36 for my larger machine with an extension table. These mats are the best! Purchased this mat to keep my machine in place - the shelf liner material I was using didn't really do the trick. This mat is thick, well made, dampens all vibration, the machine does not move. It is excellent and I would definitely recommend it.
