I sometimes have to deal with sewing on one of those foldout tables, and they always move when I sew, and the surface of the table makes the machine wobble. So I got this to try and combat all of that. The only success I really had was keeping the machine from rattling around while sewing, as the table surface was so uneven, that this pad still didn't make it level. I do like it and will keep it in my kit, since I do have to travel to various sites and will encounter crappy tables. The machine does get quieter and doesn't move, but the table can still wobble a bit, but that's the table not the pad. ... show more

I noticed a small difference in sound but main improvement was in the machine staying still and not vibranting off table. I got 2, 1 for serger and 1 for coverstitch. Will definitely order again when I add more machines.
