  • So helpful!
Size: Seam Guide 2PCS
Magnet is strong, so it does not move around while you're sewing. Easy to use. Works perfectly for what I need!

  • Makes seam allowance easy.

Four dollars is a good price to keep my stitching straight. Easy to put on machine, magnet is strong. Doesn't move while stitching.

  • Definitely improves my sewing!
Size: Seam Guide 2PCS
I don't consider myself to be a great seamstress. I'm self-taught, and have learned a lot through trial and area. Now that my skill level is established, I will say that this certainly makes a difference in keeping my seams straighter! I haven't used the curved one, so I can't comment on that. The magnet IS quite strong, as others have commented. I find that it can shift side to side if I bump it too hard, but it generally stays in place. I can certainly see how it would be difficult for some people to remove it. Shifting even a portion of it to an area with plastic might help with that. I certainly think it's a good value, even if I only end up using one! ... show more

  • Already lost it! But worked great while I had it.
Size: Seam Guide 2PCS
Well, for the time I had it, the larger magnet worked wonderfully keeping some slippery fabric from going all over the place while I sewed. I haven't quite figured out the small magnet, but on a YouTube video, someone used it to sew around curves like necklines and collars. I tried this, but I don't think I've got the hang of it yet. My one complaint is that there really isn't much in the way of instructions that come with these things. Just some vague sketches on the package. Also I understand that magnets might not be the best thing for certain types of sewing machines (those with computerized innards?). It doesn't seem to hurt my Janome 8077 at all. The magnets are really, really strong! Especially the larger one. It sticks so well to the metal plate that it is hard to get it off! It's like it's glued on there! That's a plus though because it won't move around when you're sewing. Unfortunately, I managed to loose the larger magnet--somewhere. Maybe it's in a fabric bin or something, but it's been missing for a couple of weeks now. The Youtuber suggested you just store the magnet by sticking it on the front of the sewing machine so it would be handy. Except that my sewing machine is basically plastic except for the sewing plate. I was impressed enough that I will order another one if I can't find it in another week or so. Yes, I do recommend this product. However, if you have one of those really fancy, expensive, electronic sewing machines, I suggest you call the company customer service line to ask if you can put a magnet anywhere near the thing. I can't imagine destroying one of those Pfaff machines that cost several thousands of dollars because you put a magnet on it! ... show more

  • No directions?

Ok, so perhaps I’m an idiot, but with no illustrations I can’t figure out how to use this. Magnet’s good and strong, though, so it should be reliable.

  • Super helpful!
Size: Seam Guide 2PCS
Some days I feel like I am seeing the wonkiest seams and this has helped me so much, especially then. Have been able to have consistently straight top stitches. Have had zero problems with it staying as it’s a super strong magnet. Took me a few times to get adjusted to the seam allowances, but I just did a few trial runs and made myself a scrap as reference for placement. Good for small projects, may not help with everything but is helping me train myself in straighter stitches. ... show more
