I’ve been using this StarTech USB-C to Quad HDMI dock for a bit now, and it’s been a solid addition to my setup. The biggest win is being able to run four 4K monitors off a single USB-C connection. That alone makes a huge difference if you’re juggling a lot of windows or doing anything that benefits from extra screen space. Setup on Windows was pretty painless. DisplayLink installed on its own and everything just worked. I also like that it supports power passthrough, so I can keep my laptop charged without needing another cable. The extra USB port comes in handy for a mouse or keyboard dongle too. Performance has been stable overall. I haven’t run into any major issues—no weird flickering or disconnects—and it keeps up well with everyday work. Build quality feels good and sturdy, not cheap. It seems like something that’ll hold up over time. Only thing to note is if you’re on a Mac, you’ll need to install drivers manually, so it’s not quite as plug-and-play there. Overall, if you need multiple 4K monitors and want to keep your setup clean with a single cable, this gets the job done without a lot of hassle. ... show more

    • Works well for a multi-screen setup
Got this for my dad so he could run multiple screens for day trading and it handled that without any issues. He went from one ultrawide to four 27" monitors and everything has been smooth and responsive. Setup was pretty straightforward on Windows. Plugged it in, drivers installed, and everything came up. I ended up doing it for him since he’s not really into that stuff anymore, but once it was set up he hasn’t had to touch anything. It passes through enough power to actually keep the laptop charged, which was a big one. I had a cheaper dock before that slowly drained the battery even while plugged in, so this was a noticeable upgrade. Enough connection for a pretty decent setup and the ports area all solid with no wiggle and firm connection. Just make sure your laptop supports it before picking one up. ... show more

    • Fantastic monitor hub
This is an absolutely necessary piece if you work with multiple monitors. I was working with so many cables and other adapters and it just made plugging in my setup an absolute mess every time. I'd say this has excellent compatibility. I've used this dock with a MacBook Pro, a MacBook Neo, and an ASUS Windows laptop, and it has worked flawlessly with every one of them. Portability: I've also taken this on a few trips and used it with a couple of travel monitors and it has worked amazingly. It's incredibly easy to just plug this in, plug the monitors in and go. I really love the accessory port for the keyboard and mouse because I have a few other docks that don't provide this, and I love how I can just leave the receiver in this dock instead of taking up a port on my laptop. The value for the money is really dependent upon personal preference I feel. I absolutely love this piece and it has become a necessary piece in my arsenal. So it's valuable to me in that way.
