This is a carefully designed and well executed sit/stand desk! I wanted one that did not require installation, was very easy to adjust, and could accommodate my new 27" touchscreen monitor Acer T272HUL bmidpcz 27-Inch WQHD Touch Screen Widescreen Monitor and preferred ergo keyboard Goldtouch GTU-0088 V2 Adjustable Comfort Keyboard and mouse 3M Wireless Ergonomic Mouse, Large Size, Black (EM550GPL) . The StarTech meets these requirements completely, and has a number of additional features I really appreciate as well. pros: + easy assembly + lowered, the keyboard tray is just about at desk height with monitor raised about 5 inches, which is perfect for me given my height and ability to adjust the height of my office chair + super easy to raise, just pull up on the adjustment release lever on left side then lift up on monitor shelf with both hands, height infinitely adjustable between the min and max points. Lift effort is modest so I did not bother adjusting the neumatic cylinder in the arm, but if I had, lift effort could have reduced even more. + plenty of room on both the monitor and keyboard shelves, I even have room for my wireless number pad along with mouse and keyboard + no pinch points around the arm to snag or damage cables + VERY sturdy No significant cons. The only other accommodation I had to make was to put my laptop on a slightly taller stand Quze Adjustable Wooden Laptop Desk Notebook Computer Stand with Built in Cooling Fan Portable, Foldable Lap Desk and add a WowPad mousing surface for better mouse tracking on the black keyboard shelf. Strong, sturdy, and working very well for the 4 months I've had it. Easily lifts up and down. Doesn't wobble. Assembly was straightforward. I recommended it to all the people at our office, many of whom prefer to stand at their desks for at least half the day. Its range is large enough to accommodate me ergonomically (eyes ⅓ of the way down the monitor) while I'm sitting or standing (I'm 5'10"), and I don't even raise it up all the way when I stand. It might work well for someone who is up to 6'4". I ended up leaving the wrist rest off, because it's not actually good for your wrists to have them rested there. I also just wanted a little bit of extra room on the keyboard area. A divided, ergonomic keyboard and a mouse take up pretty much all of the space on the keyboard area. If there's any con at all, it's that this has a fairly large footprint on the surface of my desk, while not providing much of a surface for setting things down. I use a laptop with an external monitor, and that takes up most of the room on the top. As I said already, the keyboard area is full, too. And you can't set things on the bottom part if you want to be able to adjust it down. That said, I plan to eventually purchase monitor arms, which should help me reclaim some space on the top. So great! Very easy to take up or down. Adjustable everything- tightness of pneumatic arm, height, keyboard position. I've had it just over a month, used it every weekday. Dramatically changed my office ergonomics- I now stand most of the time but sitting positions are also improved when they occur. I've enjoyed it SO much, it's a great quality stand, easy to assemble, fits my typical office desk very well. I looked at a lot of options on Amazon and believe I decided on the best overall, especially in looks, ease of use, durability, and ergonomic improvement for both sitting AND standing. I love this workstation as its a beast and can handle a lot. I installed a dual monitor stand on this and it works like a charm. Would be nice if this had an electric motor to raise and lower as it can be a bit heavy to raise. U can adjust the screw on the back for tension but keep in mind the more tension the harder to raise, and less tension means u better hold the workstation really good when ur lowering it. ... show more

Very disappointed in this product, as I thought appeared to be a product I could implement. I ordered one to test prior to widespread implementation. Worked very will the 1st 8-10 uses lifting and lowering. After that It took much more effort to lift, to the point where is was little use at all. I chalked it up to a failure (it happens), so I returned it for a replacement. I had the exact experience with the replacement, so I returned it as well. In the meantime, being the optimist, I had ordered a third one. After the second, I didn't even unbox the third one, returning it. And yes, I used the adjusting screw for the pneumatic cylinder with little or no success. When testing, it wasn't as stable & firm as I thought it should be. Users complained that it would shake when they typed, so well as the assisted lift problem, the instability during typing was a non-starter for me. I have tested and implemented instead the VARIDESK product line. ... show more
