  • A Cut Above the Rest!
I recently purchased the Stark Electric 16" Concrete Cutter Saw, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This saw has exceeded my expectations in so many ways, and I'd like to share my positive experience with it. First and foremost, the price of the Stark Electric 16" Concrete Cutter Saw is fantastic. It's an incredible value for the money, especially when you consider the quality and performance it delivers. In comparison to other concrete cutter saws on the market, this one is a real steal. I was amazed at how affordable it was, and it didn't compromise on quality. Speaking of quality, this saw works like a charm. I also invested in a Makita E-02543 16" Diamond Blade to go along with it, and together, they cut through the concrete as if it was butter. The blade is sharp, and the motor is powerful, making even demanding tasks a breeze. I used it to cut a 38" x 86" hole in my 10" thick foundation to put in a door, and it handled the job with ease. One thing to note, though, is that you should ensure you are running the saw on a 30-amp circuit. I made the mistake of initially trying to use it on a 20-amp circuit, and it kept tripping the breaker. Once I switched to a 30-amp circuit, I had no further issues, and the saw ran smoothly without any interruptions. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the Stark Electric 16" Concrete Cutter Saw. It offers great value for the price, works like a pro, and the only minor hiccup can be easily addressed by using the right amperage circuit. This tool, along with the Makita Diamond Blade, made my foundation-cutting project a breeze, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable and affordable concrete cutter saw. ... show more

  • Worked perfectly
Was going to cost $170 to rent one for 4 hours, but this one on sale for $30 more, now I get to keep the tool. Worked awesome, only popped the breaker once. 100% would buy again. One thing about the directions, they have you install the blade backward, as if the saw was cutting toward you. It does not, obviously, it cuts away. ... show more

  • Works decent with a good blade.
I wanted an electric saw rather than gas powered as I was working in an enclosed basement. The concrete saw works well enough if you buy a good blade. Run enough water and there is very little dust in the air. But it doesn't take much. The saw cuts pushing and pulling. But pushing is the norm. Starting out it tripped the 20 amp breaker in my breaker box every few inches of cutting 4" to 6 " thick concrete. I found the trick was letting the saw reach max RPM and then cutting slowly so as not to drag the RPM's down too much. Put no weight on the top handle and just the weight of the saw as you move it gently forward is about the right pressure. Then I could cut a few feet of concrete between tripping the breaker. I did cut full depth of concrete in one pass. Making partial depth cuts was not getting it. I've used the saw on one job. I cut approximately 90 feet through 4 to 6 inch concrete. Good enough. ... show more

  • Great saw with proper set up
Saw worked great for cutting up a concrete slab in the drive. The saw blade makes a huge difference in how efficiently you can cut concrete but you do need to take your time. Things you need in addition to a good blade: 1. Must have at least a 20 amp circuit 2. Must use a 12 gauge extension cord 3. A small flexible hose to attach to saw 4. Sut off valve connected near quick connect on saw to control water flow I did have issues with the breaker in the house getting tripped when trying to force the saw. The safety shutoff by the plug on the saw will overheat if you use less than a 12 gauge cord and are working in the sun. If this happens then you need to let it cool off. Tool shuts off as a safety feature and will not work again until it cools down I had issues with the tool not working after shutting off. I went to the hardware store and bought a new 100' 12 gauge heavy duty cord and never had an issue again. The cost can run about $.75 to $1 per foot. I also had the quick connect come free because the hose I was using was too stiff and would pull on the hose attached to the tool. I used one of those expanding hoses and didn't have an issues. The shutoff valve near the tool was essential in controlling water flow and shutting off the water when I needed a break. Use the wet saw can be a huge mess but controlling water flow can help mediate some of that. This saw is not super light but it is lighter than those with an engine. Having no fumes also made this tool a plus. It also has an adjustable depth gauge and wheels to help managing smoother cuts. If you are only cutting concrete on occasion or indoors then I would recommend this product. I have used this on wall stone and pavers but it doesn't cut at a perfect 90. Large blade can flex and cuts can be 1/16 off. ... show more

  • Quit working within 30 minutes.
This uses a lot of power. I used it on a 30 amp circuit with a 25ft 10 gauge extension cord and it ran fine for about 30 minutes. The built-in GFCI tripped a couple times when I tried to move a little too fast for the saw (still slow), but it reset and continued working. After about 30 minutes it died completely and won’t operate. I’m guessing there is something that failed inside the built-in GFCI switch, but since I only got 30 minutes of use I don’t want to try to repair it. I’m awaiting a reply from the seller to arrange a return. I knew my chances of this working well were 50/50 but I gave it a shot. ... show more

  • Impressive saw for the money
I really didn't expect too much for the price I paid for this concrete saw, but I only needed to cut through 9" of concrete about 36" long to install a new door in my new garage, so I was hoping it would get me through that as it would have cost me a $500 minimum to get a professional to come out and make the cuts. Well, I must say that this saw impressed me, especially since I purchased a nice blade that does most of the work. It cut through 9" of solid concrete like it was nothing, handled very well, was nicely balanced, and did what I needed. I used it to cut the concrete with a dry-cut saw blade, so I am sure that adding water would have made the experience even better. For the money, you can't beat this saw, but take your time, let the saw do its work, and it will do a nice job. I do recommend this saw and would purchase again if needed. ... show more

  • Great saw for the money!
Bought this saw after learning the hard way that I didn't have adequate ventilation for my Stihl gas-powered saw. We are renovating our kitchen, including removing a wall and creating an island, so trenching was a necessary evil. I was going to buy a saw at Harbor Freight for nearly twice as much that didn't come with a blade, but Harbor Freight was closed when I went, so resorted to Amazon. This saw arrived the next day, and I couldn't have been happier. It has a 16" blade versus the normal 14" that you mostly find, so can go deeper. I opted to make my cuts in a single pass just going slower, and it went very well. I was able to complete about 28' of cuts through a 4" thick slab on grade foundation with the blade that comes with the saw. Next time I use it, I'll be installing a new blade. The diamond cutting surface on the supplied blade is pretty much gone now. I had never cut concrete before this project. Is this the best saw? Who knows. Is it a good saw for the money? Absolutely, considering what you can spend on alternatives! ... show more
