  • PS5 Read for 1st game start up
Platform: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard Edition
Fun game on PS5 though it runs hot, better to have external fan blowing on it to prevent PS5 overheat shut down. Game Bugs are still if'eee... game mostly freezes while driving in jeep on surface, and requires about 5 restarts in a 6-Hour period.👎 Recommend "creator" DLCs and follow load orders... makes game play easier and adjust settings for better experience and load a dlc "lower ship registration" at game start... it will save you tons of startup credits. ... show more

Great Bethesda space RPG despite all of the bad press it's gotten in its life. Enough work has been done on it post-launch to make it worth playing including patching some of the big freezing issues and adding more content. I'm glad I've been sinking so much time into it since purchasing.

  • An Okay Space Epic for RPG Sandbox Lovers
Platform: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard Edition
Starfield is a strange beast. The presentation is absolutely fantastic, with a lot of painstaking detail put into its environments. Couple that with an inspiring, orchestral soundtrack and you have a game which feels special from the get go. The problem is that the actual game is just okay at best and bland, uninspired, and broken at worst. Starfield takes a very subdued approach to world and quest design and the pacing of the game suffers as a result. The game is slow and many quests are very one note, lacking dramatic complications and feeling too short to truly be satisfying. I can see some long-time Bethesda fans overlooking this and being engrossed by the setting and sprawling sandbox design. For me, it killed a lot of my motivation to keep playing. The absolute worst sin of the game is its dependence on fast traveling. Navigating the skies of Starfield requires way too much fast travel and it makes the game feel fragmented and fractured. You do have cruise mode now, which allows you to fly through a star system. That introduces its own issues (like overshooting objectives) but I’m glad it was added. Finally, the bugs. My copy of Starfield would freeze on 60fps mode in major cities. I had to knock it down to 40fps to avoid the problem. Also, I ran into an issue where a companion got stuck in the airlock while boarding a ship and it nearly soft locked the main quest. All in all, Starfield is a unique, but flawed game some will love for its sandbox design and presentation. I just wish the quest design was better and the game wasn’t held together with fast travel. ... show more

  • Amazing game
Platform: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard Edition
It has a few flaws. But the latest update took care of them. This game is huge, you will not get it done in a short time period like some games.
