I ordered this calculator for my 10 year old son as he loves math and numbers, and is always doing mental math and other number tricks. This calculator is perfect for verifying the results of mental math tricks, and he has been enjoying using it for almost a month. What makes this calculator kid friendly are the large buttons that are labeled really clearly. It is one of the simplest calculators we own, and it has everything you need in a clean and easy to use user interface unlike some of the over complicated calculators with advanced mathematical functions. This calculator has all the basic functionality that a 10 year old would need, and I grab it and use it for a variety of financial calculations occasionally. The built in solar panel is a nice touch as it removes the need to constantly change batteries. At the list price, it is really good value for money given its build quality and large buttons. Overall, this is an excellent back to the basics calculator that is the perfect size for both kids and adults.

The Staples Desktop Calculator with a 10-digit LCD display is a simple yet highly reliable tool that’s perfect for everyday calculations at home, school, or in the office. From the moment I started using it, I appreciated how straightforward and user-friendly it is, without unnecessary features that complicate basic math tasks. The large 10-digit LCD display is clear, bright, and easy to read from multiple angles, which makes long calculations much more comfortable and reduces eye strain. Whether I’m adding up expenses, balancing numbers, or doing quick financial calculations, the screen displays numbers cleanly and accurately. One of my favorite features is the dual power option. The solar power works well under normal lighting, helping conserve battery life, while the backup battery ensures the calculator functions consistently in lower-light environments. This makes it dependable for daily use without constantly worrying about power issues. The buttons are responsive and well-spaced, providing a solid tactile feel with each press. I’ve had no issues with missed or double inputs, even when entering longer figures. The basic financial and math functions cover everything needed for routine calculations, making it ideal for students, office workers, small business owners, or anyone managing household budgets. Its compact size fits perfectly on a desk without taking up much space, yet it still feels sturdy and well-built. It’s lightweight enough to move around easily but durable enough to withstand regular use. Overall, this Staples desktop calculator delivers exactly what it promises: accuracy, readability, and reliability. If you’re looking for an affordable, no-fuss calculator that performs consistently and lasts, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended for everyday math needs.

Works perfectly and is quiet to use. No annoying tapping noises. The buttons do not stick. The buttons are large enough and well spaced enough to use quickly and smoothly. This calculator has a backspace, which is a huge upgrade from my last calculator. So if you make 1 mistake you can hit the backspace and keep going and not have to clear the entire thing and start over. It saves time and helps me to be efficient at work. The display is large and clear and easy to read. There is no backlight, but it seems to be fairly reflective because my office overhead lights seem to shine and light up the display. It is solar powered and my office lights are plenty to make it function. The display is angled slightly, so I can keep the calculator flat on my desk and still read the display. I also really like that there is a "00" button which makes it a lot faster when adding larger checks. There are 3 memory keys which could be useful to someone but I do not find as useful. The bottom has grippy little pads so the calculator does not slide around your desktop, which I love! My last one must have worn out because it was constantly sliding all around. Such a great improvement! It has an auto shut off and turns back on as soon as you tap any button.

I've been using this Staples calculator for over a week now, and I'm very pleased with the convenience and simplicity of having a handheld calculator. Sometimes it's not convenient to use the calculator in my phone, especially for large numbers, and this calculator is perfect. I really like the feel of the keys. They are easy to press and have a firm feel at the same time. I can quickly add numbers without hitting additional keys. The screen is easy to read, and the numbers are large enough to see easily. I like that it's not a tiny calculator, but it still fits easily in my laptop bag. It has basic functions and is great for work or at home balancing my checkbook. For the price, this is a good value and a great household or work tool.

My husband still likes to use a stand alone desk calculator when he is working. I usually just open the calculator on my computer but he prefers the physical version. It will run by battery but also gets a charge from solar so when he isn't using it he places it on the windowsill next to his desk. It is also small and portable enough that it takes up very little room in his laptop backpack. One added feature is the automatic shut-off.

I haven’t had a home calculator in a few years. No idea what happened to mi e but it’s been gone. I despise having to use my phone app and my iPad didn’t even have a calculator on it. The size is large enough that I can see the numbers but small enough that it doesn’t take up much room on my small desk. Turns on quickly and the keys are quiet so I’m not disturbing my son while he is working on his own work. The slim build looks good and it’s light but sturdy. I know it’s sturdy because I promptly knocked it off my desk onto hardwood floors and it didn’t even lose my calculations. I picked it up off the floor with some colorful descriptions of my clumsiness and kept going. With the calculator being as slim as it is it fits up behind my monitor mounting bar on my pegboard at my desk. Up out of the way but in easy reach. Very good value in my opinion.

I found this calculator to be very affordable, easy to use, and practical in design. While a few users on Staples' website experienced minor issues with sticking buttons or out-of-the-box defective units, the majority are very satisfied with their purchase. You could buy a similar no-name Chinese brand, but those are often devoid of any warranty or customer service. It works well in low light, largely due to the internal battery that soaks up rays from the sun or overhead lights during the day. The big buttons are very visible, and the LCD display is clear. Note that there is no backlighting. If you're looking for a good-quality basic calculator backed up with a domestic warranty, look no further. Recommended for under $15. Sold by Staples via Amazon. ⭐️1 star — I don't recommend it at all. Poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars — I don't recommend it: has multiple faults or a very high price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars — It's passable: it has some faults, but the quality is ok for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars — Product quite acceptable, and it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars — Product that I totally recommend.
