Fresh off to college and we wanted to provide our young adult with a safe way to keep their valuables: wallet, laptop, switch, etc. The key combo is a breeze to set up. The space is incredible, and it's exactly what we expected. The reason for the "When Combined with the Master Lock Python Keyed Cable Lock" is that anyone could simply walk away with the safe so you have to secure it. The safe has holes for mounting, but that doesn't work in dorm or rental situation. We found the Master Lock Python Keyed Cable Lock to be the best solution for that. The actual Master Lock is inside the safe so it can't be compromised (you'd have to cut the cable). Note: The review asks for a rating on "wall thickness". I left it blank. You get what you pay for and this isn't Fort Knox. The door is the thicket part of the safe with the walls are fairly thin. If you want into this safe, you're going to be able to get into it. It's going to take a surface grinder and/or some special shop equipment to do so though. A hammer and screw driver aren't going to be your friends there. It's just easier to take the whole safe and figure out how to break into it later. ... show more

The instructions say to set the code to push the A or B button. Except the letters on the safe are with the number 2 button and that is A,B,C, which doesn't do anything. No website to help out, so I left a message with the questions. I ended up pushing the pound # button and it seems to work. The Star* button also worked for the 2nd code. And the instructions say if you get 2 beeps with the yellow light after putting in the code, your code won't work. Well mine did. So either the instructions are miss information or my safe is wacky but works. Probably the instructions are wrong. Other than that the safe is great. ... show more

So happy I chose this safe! It was super easy to program and works great! Heavy and nicely built. The door seems a little thin but most safe doors look that way. The locking mechanism is strong and thick though and opens without any problems. The inside comes with a removable shelf and it's bigger than I expected. Fits nicely on my shelf but has plenty of space inside for storing items. I can fit 2 accordian style plastic storage folders in with no problem and still have a ton more room for other things. The folders have all my tax documents in it and are the size of a sheet of paper but a lot thicker bc each folder is filled with numerous documents. I had to fold it a little to get it past the door but barely and once it was inside, it lays on the shelf at it's full size with no problems. This safe is super roomy and durable and I feel like it will last a very long time. I feel so much more comfortable about leaving my valuables home when I'm not now that they are all safely tucked away in the safe. ... show more

East to use, just make sure you don’t lose the keys and keep replacing the batteries every 8-10 months. Important documents, jewelry, cash, passports all fit and feel secure.     • Use lithium batteries. Cannot turn off beeps when pushing buttons annoying but not a dealbreaker.

1) Don't use alkalines. Safe will continue working as old batteries run low, and likely leak, ruining battery box. 2) I had a similar model (now more expensive) that had the useful feature of turning off the beeps. There are reasons you might not want your safe beeping when you open it, duh. Super annoying, but not a dealbreaker. 3) Comes with cheap carpet inside. Similar model had open cell foam, a nicer feature, but easy to add if desired. 4) I had to return one because the key wouldn't even open it.
