These seemed to be off good quality. The opening where the deck board is supposed to wedge into ended up being too wide for my AZEK decking (apparently, the groove is wider than many other brands). I thought I might be able to force this opening to close up a bit and just use them but they are off a very sturdy construction and I couldn't bend one easily. I ended up returning them for this reason but would have happily used them if they had for. The seller I got mine from - John1608 - was great to work with and processed my refund as soon as the return tracking listed it as having been dropped at UPS. Would definitely buy from this seller again.

Easy to use. Use a regular drill and don't over tighten incase you need to remove it, the head might strip out. Also make sure you bit is snug and straight or else you could easily strip the screw head.

The clips when placed properly hold the Trex material just fine but the poor metal quality of the screws makes them just about useless. They strip out if you breath on them wrong. The seller should supply Torx head screws to eliminate the problem. As it is that's what I am using.

I have seen bad reviews about the screws. I disagree with some reviews ! My husband used the screws and found no risks. The screw went in - out with easy.e In my opinion, the person who complained about the screw is not fair. Some wood are extremely hard and needs some drilling first before adding the screw. With for a popular wood, there’s no issue. The price of this product is too cheap compared to the general market but the quality can be said to be on par or better So I would like to recommend you to this product.

I rebuilt my Trex deck this summer, and wanting to not see any screw holes, I got these clips. I found them difficult to work with. They don't entirely fit into the slot in the Trex board, and it's tough to get them to all line up. In the end, I opted to use a screw and plug method (that I found for the first trim board). They're on Decks Direct, look up Trex screw and plug and you'll find them. They're not cheap, but I used them for all the boards where the spacers wouldn't work. It was more work, but yielded a much nicer result. It was just difficult to find as not everyone carries it. You predrill out a hole in the Trex (the supplied drill bit makes it foolproof). Then use another drill bit that perfectly countersinks a special screwhead. Finally, you mallet in a color-matched plug and the hold all but disappears. So these work, and are inexpensive, but there are better alternatives out there.

I hate writing negative reviews. I'm doing it this time because the problem is so substantive. I bought these because I could get fast delivery and to save some dollars compared to actual Trex or Timber Tech clips, which cost more than a buck each. Highway robbery. These are used to start an interior run of grooved deck boards. The outside picture frame boards are solid (non-grooved) for a better look. I screwed them all in, which worked fine. Then I discovered the first problem. The clips are bright stainless. Very shiny. You could see them clearly shining between the gray deck boards. I asked my wife if it was acceptable, and she said no way. So I bought a semi-off-brand starter clip from Mantis. Twice as expensive as these, half as expensive as Timber Tech. The screws for that were smaller than the holes, so I used the screws from this set again. And I screwed up the clip placement. I put them right next to the outside board, so the grooved board had no gap. My mistake. I went back to remove all of the clips and re-install them with a 3/16" gap. That's when I discovered the problem with the screws in this set. Out of 12 joists, only three screws came out. The other nine all broke off at the head. These screws were screwed in and out of softwood PT lumber twice. And they broke off. I don't believe these are stainless steel. I don't even think they're real steel. They behave like pot metal. Thank goodness the color was wrong and I didn't just leave them in, and thank goodness I spaced the clips wrong and had to take the screws out. Otherwise my deck install would have failed in a place that would have sucked to remove and re-install.

These clips are half the price of the Trex equivalent product. I’ve used both and these work just as well as far as I can tell. Material thickness seem similar. Easy way to save a few bucks on a deck project.
