I was looking for a pencil without a rubberized grip and had a smooth barrel because I like to stick my pencil in my hair when I'm not using it, but I was having problems with the cheaper Bic pencils retracting the lead with normal pressure of writing. The coating feels kind of plasticky; it's OK in the Fineliner pens, which are lightweight, but this is a heavier implement, so the plastic kind of feels distractingly cheap. I had one of these for 10 years until the plastic sleeve broke. I got this one as a replacement 4 months ago and am quite disappointed with how they changed the access to the dispenser and dispenser ring. When small pieces of broken leads get stuck in between the dispenser and ring it's very hard to detach the plastic piece connecting the cone and shaft. ... show more
