Belt sizes should always be upsized when ordering (larger than your waste). This belt is hard to find in the retail stores since burgundy is not a popular color. Found it here and very pleased! Good, leather belt.

Why do they make these belts so wide and heavy ?

It is a good quality item for sure, but you could use it to strap logs together or hang two tool belts from it ! Why do men's belts have to be so wide/heavy ? It barely fits through my pants loops. 3/4 " would be a good width. I will not be returning because of the trouble it takes, but I wish they would put more "dress" into the dress belt.
