Seems more stiff then it needs to be for an antenna. I am afraid that it will bend the metal where mounted on the bed of my truck. fits nice. time will tell.

    • Weak spring, not a Firestik part
I bought this for a rear mount antenna on my Jeep JL. I use a Firestik FS4-B four-foot antenna. On the first drive, I noticed that the spring was very weak and would not hold the antenna upright while driving at highway speeds. While on the trails, the antenna bounced and banged, scratching the fiberglass of my hard top. After three months of use, the spring has deformed permanently and the antenna doesn't mount straight up. I bought a real Firestik SS-3H spring from a reputable dealer. It's a real Firestik part, and holds the antenna vertically even at highway speeds. On bumpy trails, the antenna no longer smacks my hard top and stays straight. Maybe this would be a good buy if it was any cheaper than the original Firestik spring with the same model number, but since it's about the same price and of terrible quality it's just a waste of money ... and you might even damage your vehicle! ... show more

Very durable in appearance and weight steel spring. It has an adjustable heavy duty mounting screw for CB antenna thread applications. Looks just like picture. Adds about 3 more inches of height to my antenna. I should be able to reach the Freedom Convoy much easier and look good doing it! Should give my antenna some good resistance flex. ... show more
